moveon.org vs. moveamericaforward: re Fahrenheit 9/11
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 04:45 PM by buycitgo
debating whether movie should be shown

moveamerica saying it's NOT a documentary; it's a "biased propaganda piece"

says troops shouldn't be pawns for partisan political agenda

should show ALL the great things the troops are doing, like bringing electricity, water, schools to Iraqis

are troops doing ANY of this now?

isn't that all contracted out?

aren't they hunkering down/bunkering up in force protection units now?

1. Iraq was supposed to have 6,000 megawatts of capacity
Instead they have only 4,500. Plus the oil infrastructure is getting attacked weekly.

Doesn't sound like progress to me.

Sometimes the trush hurts, doesn't it?

3. I heard fifteen hundred, AND there are constant rolling blackouts
AND I saw on one of the cable channels that FOOD is about to become a problem

isn't THAT swell?

it was Bay Buchanan discussing that one, and even she had to admit that things are not going so swell in Iraq

got to give her that, at least

it's the BEST, though, when you get these maniacs coming on who insist that all is going well, like the fools representing moveamericaforward

people are wising up, though

the applause on Crossfire, for example, was almost exclusively on behalf of Carville/Huffington, as they made their points in favor of Moore

2. moveamericaforward is getting four fifths of airtime
he, of course, hasn't seen the movie

says he knows enough, though, and wants to "inoculate" Americans from the propaganda

moveon guy: what moveforward WON'T tell you is that his group is actively trying to get theaters to NOT show the movie

duh!

at least he got that out

clearly that's the most important aspect of moveamerica's agenda

4. Is moveamerica one of Bush's groups?
No pro-democratic organization would oppose the DOCUMENTARY.

6. There are direct ties to the GOP
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 05:03 PM by Wednesdays
I posted a thread here a few days ago about this...let's see if I can find it...

Okay, here's the info (from the Bartcop forum):

Whoa! "What Really Happened" actually has a good scoop:

http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/russo.html

(snips)
Yesterday morning, a DNS check proved that the website organizing harassment of theaters showing "Fahrenheit 9/11" was being run by a political public relations group with strong GOP ties. Yesterday afternoon, the DNS record was changed to remove all references to the PR company. More details on the men behind the scam have been added to this article.

Site is owned by:

Russo Marsh & Rogers is a political public relations firm with strong ties to the GOP. Sal Russo, a principle in Russo, Marsh & Rogers, served as advisor for the "Recall Grey Davis" campaign.

UPDATE: Following the first publication of this article, the WHOIS database for moveamericaforward.org has been changed to conceal their links to Russo Marsh & Rogers. (details in link)

...more still...

ANOTHER UPDATE - The DNS record for moveamericaforward.org has been changed yet agian to remove all names.Nothing is left now but the name server lookups and the registration company. The registrar's name has been removed.

Sal Russo himself is still listed on the MoveAmericaForward site.(site provides several links).
(end snips)

Why do Republicans ALWAYS have to be so sleazy about everything they do?

So, letter writers-- be SURE to include some choice tidbits from this article to really educate your recipient. That person will thank you later.

5. Unfortunately our troops are engaged in nation building.
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 04:54 PM by lovedems
What is sad is they AREN'T TRAINED to rebuild nations, they are trained to FIGHT WARS!

It is yet another example of our military being stretched to thin. The battle is "suppose" to be over. They should be home not and not in Iraq rebuilding roads and power lines and educational curriculums for the teachers. The Iraqi people could probably use the work. Oops! Then Halliburton can't profit. I am sure they are getting paid for work the military is doing.
