Oliver North sez: Torture Critics have Blood on their Hands
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 08:43 PM by troublemaker
This seemed like a pretty good day for the sane people so I've allowed myself a little FOX news (against best medical advice, I'm sure) to watch the bastards squirm. I hadn't seen these guys for a while... boy do they look beaten!

Bill O'Reilly and Tony Snow both tried on different excuses for why we lost the war in Iraq... not quite saying we have lost, but floating the idea. (Our reason for losing was, of course, that "the Iraqi people are ingrates.")

Later, on Hannity and Colmes, Sean and Ollie were talking about the kidnapped US contractor in Saudi Arabia. North mentions that the kidnappers have cited Abu Ghrib in their statement of greivance. He then points out that the Abu Ghrib torture scandal only became well known because of the media and self-serving politicians in Washington, and added that "those people have blood on their hands." Later he added Ted Kennedy to mix list before repeating, "they have blood on their hands."

I figure O'Reilly expects to make even more money as a critic of President Kerry then he makes as a Bush cheerleader. He wants to end up as rich as Paul Harvey. Hannity and North, however, don't really have that option. They are too tied to 'der programme.'

So as much as I despise Hannity, he's better than O'Reilly. There is nothing lower than a disloyal nazi... without loyalty what have they got?

4. I indulged last night in Hannity and Colmes to watch Podesta
and got to watch the old blow hard Newt compare Dumbya to Lincoln and the war on terra to the Civil War. It was all "moral" according to the man who left his wife while she was sick with cancer.

That is quite a stretch and I just think to myself, "Don't these care that they sound so effin stupid!" Surely don't think they are so smart!

5. Typical NorthSpeak
It's not the fault of the administration for sanctioning and encouraging the torture of prisoners for causing the muslims to retaliate.

If only it hadn't been published in the newspaper, NO ONE WOULD KNOW (including the hundreds of Iraqis who were tortured) and we could have GOTTEN AWAY WITH THE TORTURE without retaliation!!!!!

He's gotten even less clever with time.

Fucking morons.

9. So Ollie keeps on message: he would not have gotten into trouble
except for the f**cking light of day that fell on his little conspiracy.
Torture is not a problem for the US unless it is brought out into the open. The torturers do not have blod in their hands: light of day is at fault.

23. always wondered how folks like Olli
and C Gordon Liddy can now be "respected" media commentators, if two lefty pundits with criminal background like theirs tried poping their heads up in the media radar wouldn't they be shot down in a second?

Are there any left-wing terrorist enablers or political burgulars on the media trail?

18. And what does ol' ollie north have on his
hands?
"We should not forget that North ran a bizarre series of operations out of the Reagan White House that involved the attempted subversion of the U.S. Constitution and total disregard for legality and the democratic process.

The WMC Web site notes that North "will draw on his knowledge as a former staff member of the National Security Council and assess the United States' role in the world - militarily, economically and politically."

What knowledge from his NSC days might North share? Will he recount the arrogance of his efforts to assemble the monies and materiel necessary to keep the Contra war going in Nicaragua, against the wishes of the U.S. public and the Congress?

In 1983, the CIA mined the harbors off Corinto (Nicaragua's major port). Later that year, the Company blew up the country's key oil storage tanks at the same port. Throughout the '80s, constant attacks by U.S.-funded Contra forces based in Honduras shattered Nicaragua's economy and led to over 30,000 deaths (in a country with a population smaller than Wisconsin's)."

24. I know
and the people in Iraq and others would know about the torture without the press or political opposition. There's the red cross, released prisoners and their family members, etc. The word gets out among those our troops are fighting against. They respond in kind to American prisoners. Which leads us back to those who ordered and carried out torture having blood on their hands.

28. That's a Wonderful Link
As a Virginian I feel like we got the out-of-town premiere of the Bush administration when North ran for Senate here. The show got bad reviews so they pulled it, re-tooled it for four years and re-released as Bush2.

32. Torture Incorporated - Ollie joins the party
The U.S. Army has employed as many as 27 contractors to run its interrogation operations, according to media reports. But while CACI and Titan are getting all the mainstream media play, it appears that far more than 27 contract employees were involved in recruiting and placing interrogators in various locations. Some of the firms involved in the Bush administration’s “TortureGate” include an odd assortment of telecommunications companies and executive placement firms that have jumped into the lucrative torture business in Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, Iraq and at secret locations throughout Central Asia and North Africa.

Interrogators can earn up to $120,000 per year plying their trade and most are former military and law enforcement personnel. More ominously, these so-called “private military contractors” are nothing of the sort. They are paramilitary organizations that are funded by the US Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State, and assorted other agencies through contract vehicles known as Basic Ordering Agreements or “BOAs” hidden throughout the vast US government bureaucracy. It now is well known that CACI got its money through a BOA with the Department of the Interior.

Ollie -- He’s Baaack!

On January 12, 2004, United Placements ran an advertisement for Army Interrogators.
“Job State: IRAQ, Job Number: 8. Interrogators: 30 Positions. Compensation to $120,000. Individuals must be trained Interrogators with at least five years of experience in interrogation. Individuals must be knowledgeable of Army/Joint interrogation procedures, data processing systems such as CHIMs and SIPRNET search engines. Knowledge of the Arabic language and culture a plus…Candidates must have documented in their resumes five years of Humint collection and/or interrogation experience. This is a requirement of the client. Some locations require individuals to work and live in a field environment with minimum medical facilities. Must possess the ability to work extended work hours in difficult surroundings for up to one year.”

United Placements’ lists none other than Oliver North--a member of Ronald Reagan’s NSC and focal point of the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s—as one of its two “Industry Associates.” North is currently the host of Fox News Channel’s “War Stories.” United Placement’s second “Industry Associate” is Intelligencecareers.com run by former intelligence analyst Bill Goldman.

33. If we can't look to Ollie for moral guidance...
then where would we be? Nicaragua would have taken us over by now! We'd have been defenseless in our soft underbelly (aka the southern hemisphere)

We'd all be speaking Nicaraguan by now if not for his brave, brave misappropriation (theft) of gov't funds.

God bless you Ollie! Without you, thousands of people wouldn't piss their pants and try to hide under the bed every time someone knocks at their door!
