Just to pass on some added information, about which we'll be saying more. There is chatter in Pakistani intelligence circles that the US has let the Pakistanis know that the optimal time for bagging 'high value' al Qaida suspects in the untamed Afghan-Pakistani border lands is the last ten days of July, 2004.

But with all the fit that's hit the shans, maybe they don't want to wait that long. Dunno.

Because the 9/11 Commission is reporting that Osama was in on all the intricate details of the 9/11 bombings. Before, they only thought he was the money man. This means his capture will be a bigger deal now than before.

"bounce" out of Reagan that they had hoped for. Many didn't like the idea of tying Bush to Reagan and then when the Reagan family came out against the Club for Growth ad, I think they see that their plans for capitalizing on his death won't work.

Time for a new approach, I'm sure. My bet is that it's closer to their convention and the anniversary of 9-11. After all, you don't launch a new product until after Labor Day.

The chaos will continue in Iraq and elsewhere showing the OBL was not the key to solving the WOT. Can't put him on trial - takes way too long and he would get to speak and call witnesses in his defense.

The best use of OBL for the bushies* is to keep him out there... as a bogeyman of mythical proportions.
