Anyone else have that ominous "other shoe's about to drop" feeling?
Like something monumentally devastating is about to happen? (Obviously, there is a lot of devestation already going on, but I am talking far worse than that even.)

3. I think there is another war that is going on in DC
That could erupt at any minute.

I heard Ray McGovern, CIA Veteran say on Democracy Now the other day that he was SCARED.

That scared me. :scared:

I believe there is a counter-coup brewing. Bush has crossed the CIA in a BIG way, as in HUGE BETRAYAL. Tenet quit the same day Bush hired a private criminal attorney, and so did Valerie Plame's direct supervisor.

I think they are going to bring him down. That's why he's having a mental meltdown (well, among other reasons).

You're right, things do look like they're about to get interesting.

I wouldn't be the least suprised, at this point. I'd be more surprised if the CIA keeps taking lumps from BushCo without retaliating Big Time!

25. Yeah, me too . . .
. . . I saw his sister and two kids on the Today Show this morning. The son could hardly talk for crying. He was begging for Bush and Saudi Arabia to bring his father home for Father's Day. I don't have a good feeling about this one. And I don't really know the answer. They're asking for hundreds? of Al Qaeda prisoners to be released in exchange for this man. They're not going to release that many Al Qaeda prisoners. Hopefully they can negotiate for maybe a couple of prisoners in exchange but . . . I don't know. I'm afraid they won't pull it off.

Uck. This gives me a stomach ache.

9. But the mass media refuses to cover it ...
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 11:04 AM by merh
They covered the story that the plot was 10 airplanes, but not Saddam had no ties to Al Qaida; they barely referenced the letter from the diplomats and generals saying "get him out of here for our country's sake"; there was no word about Reagan's family saying get off of our father's/husband's coat tail. Oh, sure, snippet here and snippet there, but no real coverage. It is very frustrating.

If we could only get the idiots to pay attention!

10. I've had that feeling since 1999--just before the election.
Everybody said it was going to be close. I kept telling myself I'd lived through Nixon, Reagan & Bush the Smarter. Even if the idiot got in, surely I could deal with it. But I still had a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach.

So, I watched the coverage election night. Up, down, in, out. Finally I fell asleep. When I awoke, Dan Rather was still going. Got to work & the newspaper boxes were empty--one printing had been discarded before distribution.

And so it goes.

48. i think F911 is the least of their worries. i think they are about to get
nuked on by the intelligence agencies that they've doublecrossed, spit on, and left for dead in the alley. and like galvanizing the democratic base, i think this administration has galavanized the FBI and CIA to beat to the same drum: revenge on bushco.

but what has me a little curious is what poppy thinks of all this. i've always thought he big influence on the CIA from his history. it's almost as if chimpy is sticking the knife into the CIA to piss off his daddy. i think this guy is a freaking lunatic from living in the shadows of his father. he's completely f*cked up.

After 9-11, I kept my mind open, but it didn't take him a week to show that he was going to use it for political advantage.

"You do not steal an election to do good things" is a great statement, probably applicable only in a (former) democracy.

19. The Bushco brand Spin Machine
has apparently had its polarity reversed and is now mass producing shit instead of propeganda. I have been hearing how the man has tics and is acting nuttier than ever. It will only take a few more deluded nutcase fundies to convince him he is God. I guess that all we can do is sit back and watch the new BushCo Shit Machine blow its product into the proverbial fan and wait for his reaction.

I have come to the firm conclusion that the Reagan Bounce, for what its worth, has already passed. I am also leaning toward the Puke National Convention Sideshow causing more damage than anything. After all the bullshit Shrub's machine has been producing, even some of his base are going to catch on to the cheap theatrics. He better get his minions ready to start stuffing the ballot boxes.

He wanted "it" brought on...now he is drowning in "it."

21. Yes, it's like when I was growing up in an alcoholic home....
...because there was absolutely no way to predict what was going to happen at any given moment, the whole family remained tense, anxious and feeling helpless. We learned that there could be relief when the alcoholic was not around, so that was what we looked forward to. But when the alcoholic returned usually drunk, abusive and even violent, the fear and terror would begin again.

This situation with Dubya and the BushCo gang reminds me a lot of those days of living with an alcoholic, ominous and full of dread with no relief. The Bush people behave in neurotic, secretive, self-centered, dishonest ways and as pathological liars, they now have the nation responding to them in the same sick ways that they have been acting.

The nation is growing less and less confident in how how Bush has been leading and running the country and doing what they have been doing around the world. To my way of thinking the other shoe has dropped. Now we just need to do an intervention to remove these sick people from their positions of responsibility. How about a 12-step intervention, say by DPA (Dysfunctional Politicians Anonymous)?

And by the way, Cheswick, a World Class quote: "you do not steal an election to do good things." Ain't THAT the truth!

As far as the topic of this thread, "something wicked this way comes." At least in bush's direction. It's gonna be a HOT summer.
