Going back at least as far as the Clinton administration, the GOP has made heavy use of unsubstantiated rumors to smear their Democratic opponents. This tactic has been so successful I really don't think we can ignore it. Many DUers will balk at adopting the dishonest tactics of our opponents. If so, stop reading now. For everyone else, here are some rumors I think we should spread. Please add your own!
- GW Bush secretly divorced Laura and married Condi Rice.
- Bush did not divorce Laura, but keeps Condi as a second "wife" (or bondwoman) in a polygamous arrangement. Justifies it with the Biblical account of Abraham, his wife Sarah, and his concubine Hagar (Genesis 21:10-14).
- Ann Coulter is a pre-op male-to-female transgendered person.
- GW Bush never stopped drinking; he only pretended he did to look like an evangelical Christian.
- The medication Bush takes twice a day is naltrexone; prescribed by his handlers to keep him from drinking.
- Bush's brain is so fried from alcohol and cocaine abuse he has trouble keeping his balance and suffers petit mal seizures.
- Bush constantly confuses Austria with Australia and vice vesa. When he met Australian PM Howard he was surprised he didn't speak German.
- Bush is in secret negotiations with Tony Blair to restore British rule to the United States; the plan is to have Queen Elizabeth appoint Bush Governor-General, and then marry one of Bush's daughters to Prince William.
