Bush and Dirt. Whats up with this one
There have been a number of stories about the measures the handlers have to go through to make sure Bush's feet never touch dirt. Are we talking delusions of grandeuor here or some other issue? Any researching DUers got some links to the various dirt avoidance events?

1. The way he falls down all the time, maybe he just figures the earth is out
to get him. He probably has a guilty conscience... no, have to have a car to have car trouble.

3. I think we've seen his feet touch dirt many times.
Those photos of him chopping wood and clearing brush at his ranch, for example. Unless he paved the space between every tree, he had to have been standing on dirt. And just last week he was walking down the beach at the G8 Summit. I know sand isn't technically dirt, but close enough.

And you could also say he's been walking on dirt every second he's been in office, since that's what he thinks of the American people and the whole rest of the world. Anyone who disagrees with him is dirt and he'll walk all over them.

4. Earth Day
IIRC on Earth Day when he was mucking around in the field they had to build a platform for him so he wouldn't touch any dirt. Maybe its a packed dirt (ie the Ranch) vs loose soil thing. It just strikes me as odd.

6. Do a search of Newsday & Jimmy Breslin
He wrote an article about it, I believe.

I have not seen anything since.

Is there a psychological meaning to this at all?

7. It's physiological, alright. "Mother Earth"... it boils down to
Barbara-phobia!
