33. If there was an event that DEFINES "jump the shark"...
...it's the "mission accomplished" stunt.

Mission Accomplished!

Failing that, the minute he heard about the 2nd attack and continued reading about goats.

12. criticizing the criticizing is more of an outrage than the outrage!

13. yeah, I got it from every single 3 Stooges short in existence
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 11:39 PM by thebigidea
AMC's daily screenings of Stooge shorts kept me relatively sane post 9-11 and pre-Iraq war... after hours of Donald Rumsfeld and Ari Fleischer, finally: idiots that make more sense than Dubya.

19. Exactly
Or more specifically, the Bush Criminal Empire jumped the shark even before then, when they were busted under the Trading With the Enemy Act for funding Hitler. They should have fed Prescott and the rest of those bastards to the sharks after that. Which would have likely prevented Junior from being born at all.

25. Close, but off by about 9 months
One day in early October 1945, when the evil spawn of poppy and babs was conceived.

Of course for the true * believers it was an immaculate conception so poppy was not directly involved. Can't say that I blame him of course.

7. When they shifted gears from "Iraq is as big as California...
...the WWMD's are there and we'll find 'em!" to "Saddam was a brutal tyrant! It was never about WMD's!"
I see that as the top end of the slippery slope. I don't know if the poll numbers bear that out, it just feels right. Then when he got virtually no bounce from "Saddam in a hole" I knew he was tumbling ass over teakettle down the old hill.
And he ain't stopped rolling yet... :bounce:

9. When he couldn't pronounce Abu Ghraib
I think that was the last straw. The SHAME that his administration has brought on this nation and he could not even bother to learn to PRONOUNCE the name of the place? That moment just summed it all up.

10. 1/20/01

Before that day, he was just a failed businessman, a
failed governor, a failed pilot, a failed recovering
alcoholic.

It's been downhill for EVERYONE since that day.

24. Yeah.
First step in recovery is to admit that your life
is out of control. Bush can't admit a mistake. That's
a sure tell he's a dry drunk.

(Maybe not so dry, but I don't know that for sure.)

during the primaries. still a big threat. but when clarke's book came out and his testimony lit bush's ass on fire, it seemed like all hell broke loose. i think clarke really kicked monkeyboy in the nuts hard. he hasn't been able to recover since.

29. Don't know about 'jumping the shark' but I think the turning
point was when those 4 contracters were killed, burned and hung. After that it really brought to everyone's attention that Americans are not being welcomed in Iraq with flowers and candy and we have an awful mess there that chimp got us into. It seems like after that there has not been one bit of good news for chimp and he has been on a complete downhill slide ever since. :o

34. When Daddy got him into the Guards and then..
W jumped the shark when he had Poppy Bush pull strings to get him into a champagne unit of the National Guard, and then he promptly deserted.

Anything before that, I can write off as youthful indiscretion. But, I cannot excuse deserting when it comes to national security, even if it was a wrongful war. If you really were too scared to fight, become an objector or go to Candada.

35. December 13, 2000
The day after the SCOTUS overturned the Florida election, declared Bush the winner, and effectively cancelled the right to vote.

It's all there in the opinion.
