So let me get this straight, Putin says Iraq to attack U.S. after 911 and Putin tells Bush this soon after 911 and Bush never uses this to justify the attack on Iraq. Also, Putin was against the war. Oh please if this were true he would of been saying this from day one. What did Bush have to promise Putin for this lie, maybe some nice French wine on his next trip to the WH. Maybe some debt relief, maybe a few hookers the next time he is in Washington. I find this whole idea that iraq was going to attack us laughable, What were they going to attack us with pea shooters? they as we know have no signicant weapons.

3. Putin 12/18/03 - There were no international terrorists under Hussein.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200312/s1013128.htm

"We do not want the United States to lose their war on terrorism - we are US partners in the fight against terrorism," Mr Putin said.

"But as for Iraq, this is a separate matter. There were no international terrorists under Hussein. This is a separate problem," he said.

7. A damn good find
This story has more wholes than my jogging shorts. This is actually almost sad that bush would get him to say this, just after the Osoma-Iraq connection was shot down and the same day Kerry is going to talk about it.

If you go to the main site (www.abc.net.au), search 'putin iraq december'. It is the first article.

5. I had the same thought. What did Bush promise Putin
You know that this is a lie. Maybe the US will forgive them some of their debt or give them favorable trade agreements?

Why didn't he come forward sooner? Why now, after the 9/11 commission concluded that Saddam had ZERO to do with 9/11?

Common. They think we are stupid. I hope this will be investigated.

F*cking liars.

6. Here's an AP article
ASTANA, Kazakhstan (AP) - Russia gave the Bush administration intelligence after the September 11 attacks that suggested Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq was preparing attacks in the United States, President Vladimir Putin said Friday.

Putin said he couldn't comment on how critical the Russians' information was in the U.S. decision to invade Iraq. He said Russia didn't have any information that Saddam's regime had actually been behind any terrorist acts.

"After Sept. 11, 2001, and before the start of the military operation in Iraq, the Russian special services, the intelligence service, received information that officials from Saddam's regime were preparing terrorist attacks in the United States and outside it against the U.S. military and other interests," Putin said.

He said the United States had thanked Russia for the information. There was no immediate comment from U.S. officials.

14. look for a nice big contract to be awarded to the Russians?
snip from same article: Moscow has been furious with Washington in recent days for barring countries that opposed the Iraqi war in participating in the lucrative first phase of reconstruction projects in the war-torn country.

Russia warned the United States on Tuesday that it was "unacceptable" to make such a decision.

15. Russia had Saddam era oil/construction contracts, in limbo w/occupation.
Now's their chance to renew with an "independent" Iraq government...if possible. G8 fallout, I guess.

16. How about what Putin said in December 2001:
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines01/1218-03.htm

Putin Warns U.S. Against Expanding War to Iraq

"... Putin said he has seen no evidence that Iraq finances terrorists"

What an asshole. Crooks doing business with crooks and the media sleeps.

17. The question is whether more than a small percentage of us are
paying enough attention to realize this is a Bush-Putin "deal." How incongruous, that Putin, who did not support Bush* illegal war and thus was in the doghouse, is now on board with CONVENIENT tales of Iraqi conspiracy....

I can't help but want to damn our fellow complacent ignorant Americans... Bushistas would not get this crap by most Europeans, I'm absolutely convinced, but how easy it is to manipulate American opinion with any damn lie they choose.
