6. That's a lot better than it was in April
I wonder if 57% of the public still believes Saddam had WMDs or al Qaida associations.

9. Over 40% of people polled do
These are the people who don't have answering machines, cell phones, voice mail, or caller ID and who answer the phone when pollers call and are very happy to take a few minutes out of their day to talk.

You know, rural people, the elderly, and morons.

Technology is skewing the sample away from major cities and educated folks with busy lives.

12. Of course this is on-line, and readers of news
hard to tell if the general public perception of the link is changing.

However - the more the news keeps reporting on the "dispute" between Cheney and bush (now Condi has had to add her voice on NPR) and the 9-11 panel - the more folks have to hear that the question is seriously being asked. THAT might start penetrating the public psyche.

Yesterday I passed by a USA Today newspaper box. On the top right hand side (Biggest placement, I believe, for a newspaper) - HUGE FONT (3x other headlines) on the 911 panel finding NO LINK. Smaller font (taller than other headlines, but NOT bold) mentions the bushco dispute... but the story was on the inside of the paper (didn't read it - but found the headline placement - and size of font - pretty significant. This is what most commuters and hotel guests reading USA Today, and countless readers in waiting rooms, read yesterday.

Again the longer the WH has to respond to stories about the dispute... the more that even those who had "believed" will begin to question. And with those questions it will be harder for some to settle their cognitive dissonance (between how they view America (what we do in the world) and what appears to be the real actios of America under bushco) - by simply believing the whole bushco line. Just TOO many discrepencies... with the cognitive disonance growing weekly.

I will be interested in reading general polls in a week or so on this very question.

3. No there aren't. Poll Freeping
It could easily be that there are 391 Freepes who have each voted 10 times.

Rest assured, that Poll has been Freeped and perhaps professionally by Uncle Karl's Dirty Tricksters and Mockingbirds.

4. well GWB said it's so
well, uh, just because, and so therefore it must be. Let 'em vote: they are the same people that preface every statement of opinion that requires a knowledge of fact with "I feel that" which has nothing to do with facts. Facts don't exist in their world, which is why they are ultimately so easily manipulated by "how they feel" about issues.

13. It IS Falling Apart for Bush
Take a look at David Corn's analysis today: Al Qaeda Disconnect. It is a very good refutation of Bush and Cheney.

Also see my commentary on www.Earthside.com - "Bush Keeps Lying!"

I think there is actually plenty of controversy about this, as there should be. And the more the radical Republicans rant about this, the more doubt is sowed.

The 9/11 Commission report of the non-existent al Qaida-Saddam link is very bad for Bush. Do not despair. It is really all falling apart for Bush ... it really is.

8. "Do you believe what your President tells you"
is how that sector is reading that question (or ANY such question). Don't sweat it. That's a hearteningly large "NO" vote.

11. I sweat the fact that this question is even polled.
This is a non-fact and the poll only gives it more credence.

they have to play along with the game and the lies that they're told..Many have woke up and are aware of the truth. Just think how they're going to be when the thugs are led out of the WH in handcuffs.

And it is kind of a relief that 47,195 think there is. At least we know that Bush is supported by the naive.
