MESSAGE from Michael Moore re: RW campaign, 6/18/04

Friends,

We're a week away from the nationwide opening of "Fahrenheit 9/11" and not a day goes by where we don't have some new battle to fight thanks to those who are still working overtime to keep people from seeing this film. What's their problem? Are they worried about something?

(cut)

As of this morning, a little over 500 theaters have agreed to show the movie beginning next Friday, June 25. There are three national/regional theater chains who, as of today, have not booked the movie in their theaters. One theater owner in Illinois has reported receiving death threats.

8. YES, *deaththreats*
That's why we were encouraging people to write and thank the theaters that are showing the film.

What they're enduring from the other side is gross, so we need to give them some support.

4. Two theaters in Fresno showing F 9/11, where will Rim Job be?
In Fresno, the cradle of freeperville, two theaters will show F 9/11. I'm wondering were Rim Job will send his minions?

Also I can see it in Bakersfield.

Hey freeps you all showing up for the openings? Hope to see your ugly faces and stupid signs at:

Bakersfield, CA Pacific Valley Plaza 16

Fresno, CA Edwards Fresno Stadium 21 Cinemas

Fresno, CA Signature Manchester Stadium 16

9. That list on the F911tix site is inaccurate
They also list Rohnert Park (where I live), but when I called the theater to ask about advance tickets, they said the movie is NOT playing there. Better double-check any theater you're interested in by calling directly.

6. Which are the three chains?
I can't get any information locally. I've heard that some Carmike theaters are showing the film but many aren't, and their website only shows listings up to next Thursday. Which are the three chains mentioned above who haven't picked up the film?

7. dmr and I are booked for the noon showing in Long Island
I'm driving over from Jersey to join her and her son, also a DU-er!

Really excited about this. We're making up DU flyers to pass out and build even more awareness of the "think tank" that is DU!

12. I am shocked that it is showing in Loek's theaters!
The Loek's family are conservatives from Grand Rapids, MI. Good for them, that they support freedom of expression!

I will see it at the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak, however, where I always go to see indie films. I wonder if the freepers will be picketing? Royal Oak is awfully close to Detroit for those Livingston County people who burn crosses and support the Klan.
