Wayne Madsen email says Plamegate impending indictments "buzz" in DC
I've been communicating with Mr. Madsen via email since Tuesday (he's the investigative reporter who supplied info to Michael Ruppert of http://www.fromthewilderness.com) about Plame indictments. Today, I asked him what he thought Josh Marshall was referring to as his big story.

Here's what he wrote:

"I think it is the impending indictments -- that is the buzz around DC these days."

Maybe that's why Kerry is keeping a bit of a low profile.

1. Has "Scooter" fled to Cheney's undisclosed location?
My guess is it only gets as high as Libby.

Cheney would be lawyered up "big time" and out of the spotlight if he was due to be indicted.

he may be named an unindicted co-conspirator.

5. He believes they will be within a week or week and a half
He has several sources in the CIA and DOJ as well as a "well-known Washington pundit."

Here's what he wrote Tuesday:
"My take is that the targets for indictments are Scooter Libby, John Hannah, David Wurmser (all in Cheney's office); Elliott Abrams (NSC staff), and Karl Rove (Exec Office of POTUS). Cheney and Bush may be named as unindicted co-conspirators."

Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 01:24 PM by MallRat
It's all over, folks, if Bush and Cheney are named.

I said this before. If this really happens, then when Mr. or Ms. Undecided Voter walks into the voting booth, in their minds, the ballot would look something like this:

Candidates for President (Choose ONE)
===========================
O John F. Kerry (D)

O Ralph Nader (I) (of course, assuming that he gets on the ballot...)

O George W. UNINDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR Bush (R)
===========================

Who would YOU vote for?

Like you, I wish Scooter Libby would get what's coming to him (and I believe he will), but Rove would be even better. He's one of the main, evil masterminds behind the curtian. If he's indicted the house of cards will come tumbling down.

45. What could the punishment for an "unindicted co-conspirator" be?
Yes, impeachment or impeachment proceedings leading to a resignation would be a wonderful step in the right direction of this country. But I want to see these squatters sent to an ass-pounding penal colony. If it can be proven that they were part of the conspiracy, is it possible that they (Bush, Cheney) could be imprisoned?

49. Well, well, well, Elliott Abrams is an old hand at this.
Back into familiar territory for him. Fuckers ALL. And kkkarl rove, too? (On my KNEES, praying right now!!!)

The only confusion is - we actually have at least a couple of investigations where indictments could be coming down. The Plame Game and Torturegate.

Geez. I just realized - imagine sitting here, talking politics, and kicking around the question about who's going to be indicted from which scandal? I'll bet some of the same people will be facing indictments in several cases. One from Column A and one from Column B.

13. Sounds like Watergate all over again.
Man if this plays out like Watergate did in the public debate we will really be split down the middle. I got into some really heated shouting matches with Republicans.

I remember so many Nixon supporters who were just like the freeper Bush supporters are now. No matter what evidence was presented they buried their heads in the sand and would not face facts.

After Nixon resigned they said they never supported him.

11. So if Cheyney is UCC, what are the odds he bows out.
I've been predicting for 3 years now that Cheyney will NOT be the Republican VP nominee in '04. He is the perfect guy to wrap all the bad things about the 1st Shrub term into and jettison so the Murikan peeple will feel there's a clean slate and re-elect he junta.

I feel even more strongly now, obviously. My only question is: Powell or Ridge. My bet is on Powell. In which case, good God almighty what a can of worms will be opened!

25. I agree with Walt, it will be Giuliani/McCain or Giuliani/Shelby
They can't indict the Pres or VP, so unindicted co-conspirator is how the prosecutor has to bring it to the House for impeachment to begin.

Nixon took 6 weeks from the Smoking Gun tape to impeachment and resignation before trial in the Senate. BARRY GOLDWATER TOLD HIM HE HAD TO GO!

This would be shorter, given the Cable News Echo Chamber of today, maybe 3 weeks.

They will definitely do this as the Intelligence Identity Protection law requires hard time.

They will try to avoid any trial in the Senate or drawn-out attention because of this and so Rudy can give them all pardons after the election. If it goes to trial and all, it will be much harder for President Giuliani to pardon them.

Cheney resigns first and Rudy is appointed VP, then Bush goes a few weeks later. Rudy then appoints whoever as VP and both accept the nomination for the Repubs. The media goes into overtime to coverup the scandal and elect Giuliani and Kerry suddenly has a real fight on his hands, instead of a pre-defeated Bush and Cheney.

If Rudy picks McCain, we probably lose but both are pro-choice so no way.

The other big surprise would be a Powell/McCain ticket as it is Powell who is leading the CIA and State to overthrow the neo-cons! He may just tell Alma he has to do it!

That would be bad for Kerry...

31. That would make more sense than Giuliani.
Giuliani is seen as a RINO and too "liberal" for the GOP rank and file, while McCain is more of a real conservative (tho still not liked by the hard right due to his support of CFR).

Both are pro-choice. Homophobic agenda or not, the RR would feel abandoned. Don't forget, they got Reagan elected and that's how Bush got close. No way will there be a pro choice candidate on this ticket.

In his post, Josh Marshall says that he has been investigating along with some other people. Why would they be investigating the Plame case? Someone else is, and if they hare handing out indictments over this, what would that have to do with anything Jose Marshall is investigating? No, I think is is something else.
