McCain turns into head cheerleader for bunnypants.

WHAT were we all thinking when we thought that this guy might not be all that bad. He is the biggest wh**e around. I will never, ever have another good thing to say about him. It is obvious that this guy is out for himself ONLY.

Bush Gets Boost From McCain on Iraq
Bush Gets Endorsement on Iraq and Campaign From McCain, Who Had Been Courted by Kerry
The Associated Press

FORT LEWIS, Wash. June 18, 2004 — Before cheering troops, President Bush got a strong endorsement on Iraq and a boost for his re-election campaign Friday from Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican courted by Democrat John Kerry to be his running mate.
McCain offered dire warnings about the threat from terrorists and from Saddam Hussein words that matched the starkest language Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have employed. The support from McCain came as the president is trying counter rising questions about the invasion.

-snip-

Bush sat just behind McCain on a stage erected in an aircraft hangar, basking in the endorsement from his fierce opponent for the 2000 GOP presidential nomination. They seemed determined to project unity, heaping praise on each other with no mention of the bitter contest.

-snip-

McCain said of Bush: "He has not wavered in his determination to protect this country and to make the world a better, safer, freer place. You will not yield, nor will he."......"Many of you will soon return to that just and necessary fight" in Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain said. "It's a fight between right and wrong, good and evil it's no more ambiguous than that."

For Bush, McCain's vigorous defense of the war was a welcome rebuttal to a report this week that called into question a central pillar of the case for war.

4. Well we weren't all thinking...
but now that he has been knighted as "Kerry's first choice" as I heard on the news last night it's a little hard for the (D) side to dispute his rhetoric now. :(

16. Why is it hard for the Democratic side to refute the rhetoric?
Who said it was Kerry's first choice?

our nominee was supposedly "courting" this damn RW mouthpiece? It makes the Dems look VERY bad....IMO.

"......"Many of you will soon return to that just and necessary fight" in Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain said. "It's a fight between right and wrong, good and evil it's no more ambiguous than that."

I NEVER wanted this man as VP on our Dem ticket...ever. He's a damn repuke through and through. :puke:

15. So was the Al Gore "lies" meme
The media are a bunch of copycats. I agree with you that it makes us look bad, but that's the fault of the media, not the Dems.

12. It's a catch-22 for McCain....
The closer he gets to Bush, the more support he will lose with independent voters and some moderate Repubs. He will not be as big a push for Bush as he or they might think, in my opinion.

In one month he's managed to p.o. all parties. Quite an impressive accomplishment. I don't know what this guy is thinking....

20. Did Kerry really ask him to be Veep?
I don't know that he did.

I know that a bunch of media whores reported it.

I know they also reported that Al Gore is a big liar who 'reinvents' himself.

Do you think they're any less capable of flat-out lying now?

27. Seriously!
It's like he has a split personality. One day he slams bunnypants and the next day he's stumping for him.

I don't get it.

All I know is that any respect or sympathy (after 2000 primaries) I had for McCain is GONE. He shattered it all. I don't understand how he could stump for bunnypants after the shit he pulled in SC in 2000--saying McCain was unstable, crazy, had an illegitimate child, etc. WTF? Has McCain no pride? I would never suck up to anyone that pulled that shit against me.

25. Don't want to get anyone pissed off or anything, but
it's the media, stupid.

They are doing what that dweeb Karl Rove is telling them to do. I've said this before and I'll say it again, this is only the beginning of what is going to come out of their collective mouths. The American public is in for a desperately stupid summer and fall.

I don't believe that John Kerry ever entertained the thought of asking John McCain to be his VP. It's just the media shills trying stir shit up and take the heat off bunnypants.
