Olbermann (countdown) today: link between Osama and Saddam
was not created by the tooth fairy. Showed Bush/Cheney making all the implications before and right after the war started... Oh, boy. Not the tooth fairy definitely. Then he showed Putin and displayed his statement... saying it was probably the same Russian intelligence system that allowed him to prevent the bombing by the Chechens in the theater in Moscow. Then Carlson (Time? correspondent) agreed with him that it was disingenuous to try to say they had not tied Saddam to 9/11....
pretty good, if you ask me.

And NewsHour's Shields was pretty good too. Kristol was with him and could not fend off all the stuff coming his way. Tried, but couldn't.

In Washington Week... said the campaign is still 50/50 and that Bush thought he would be a lot farther ahead by now. That IRAQ is going to be the determining factor, not the economy.
They were wondering if Kerry coming out strongly saying that BushCo had mislead about the war was a good move...
But now on the weekend we will have all the mediawhores out interviewing BushCo about Johnson and salivating about Iraq's new chocolaty sovereignty (thanks to Randi for this term).

Text of a Letter from the President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate

March 18, 2003

Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President

Consistent with section 3(b) of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243), and based on information available to me, including that in the enclosed document, I determine that:

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Sincerely,

GEORGE W. BUSH

4. Kristol is hilarious these days
he's in the unique position of knowing he is completely WRONG(he does know, you can tell)!!! and still not caring - still defending the position to invade Iraq eventhough he knows all of the reasons given are complete bullshite. Probably only he and a dozen other people know the real insidious reason, the rest are just mindless shills.

5. The thing is with Kristol
is that he was never a Bush Supporter, he backed McCain and has never been ever to find himself in "favor" with this administration. I think he doesnt really care what happens to Bush, Kristol is still a huge asshole.
