Why aren't more candidates confronting the Computerized Voting problem?

I am curious why more candidates arent bringing this issue up.

No doubt this is the biggest obstacle facing most Democratic candidates, and in the long run, all candidates.

The voting issue controls the ultimate outcome of every other issue facing America. Terry McCauliffe has proudly declared putting 10,000 or so supervisors at the polls, which of course is money thrown away because it will not solve the problem of the monitoring the data inside the machines, which is the problem. He seems to be either clueless or in denial. And being the position he holds, thats seems pretty inexcusable.

This is not something to be postphoned until we solve some of the other problems.

Another question, what is the status of the Holt Amendment and does that legislation call for a specific and separate ballot to be placed in a ballot box?

1. This issue is one more way for Dean to distinguish himself

I read here last week that an evil DU'er was able to speak to Dean at an airport about this. For all of you attending house parties for Dean this weekend, let's make this a clear message from the grassroots: WE NEED VERIFIABLE VOTING SYSTEMS!!!
In my mind, there is no issue more important than this. If we don't have free, fair and open elections, nothing else matters. It's all moot.

2. EVERY Candidate Should Take Up The Issue

If the Democrats want to show some party unity, this is one place where they could all- and should all, agree. And for that matter, any candidate of any party should get behind this wagon.

One person will get shot down. Coming from a group, it then is going to be harder to spin off as some sort of "theorist."

While you're wondering about DNC central, see if they are still contractd to Election.com (may be Accenture now) to provide primary election services.

That should be dropped ASAP. It could litterally provide a way to pick your opposition- or for the DNC or DLC to pick their candidate. Either way, it's potential to take away the vote from the grass roots is enormous.

Check this out, as of several months ago, both the Democrats and Republicans were contracted to Election.com. If it's not up on the site anymore, call and ask.
