2000 Election Results: And now Nader is 2.5 times as Popular?
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0876793.html

I am very wary of polls that say Ralph Nader is taking 5-7% of the likley popular vote in 2004.

I think this is a potential ambush. Especially in swing states...imagine

"Who would have guessed Nader was so strong in Ohio?" on your TV election night.

Nobody I know is voting Nader, I live in a VERY liberal community - I should know dozens. I have spoken to NOBODY who is voting Nader, yet there should be thousands who plan to according to polling data.

1. I saw some political scientists on Ben Wattenberg's Think Tank
and they said the closer it gets to the election, the less you'll see "wasted vote" responses. Right now the Nader numbers are rebels, as the election gets closer these folks will change to support one of the major candidates

3. Exactly
There's no way he'll match what he got in 2000. He may not even get on that many state ballots.

2. people are upset with Kerry....he is 2.5 times less popular than Gore
or something like that. Kerry can get those people back if he cares enough. Or he can go after the joe sixpack votes he is not going to get.

4. nope, look at Naders numbers in June 2000

he polled at 4% all the way up to the election and only got 2.5% of the votes. I expect the actual number of votes will be smaller this time around

6. Yup, pukes have been putting Nader on the ballot

because they know that shifting votes to a conservative would be spotted immediately. Nader knows he'll pull a lot of puke votes from people who won't vote for the chimp but can't vote for a Democrat, but he is unlikely to pull many liberal or progressive votes after the election 2000 fraud. So the pukes will probably try to BBV-shift votes from Kerry to Nader, thinking it would be less easy to catch than switching the votes to a conservative. And without a paper ballot, it really will be difficult to prove. I hope everyone insists on a paper ballot in November. I'd suggest voting absentee, but Bev says there are problems with the absentee votes being counted in secret by unknown people appointed by other secretive unknowns, so I'd start calling my local registrar of voters NOW to make sure that there will be sufficient paper ballots on hand for everyone. Forewarned, etc.

11. and he is polling how much at this time.... more than 4 percent
I think Nader is an asshole. But don't be foolish. Nader is going to be a problem in swing states. Kerry needs to address this issue.

7. Who are these "People" - who are so asstute...?
That are so anti-Kerry that they will vote for Ralph Nader?

I'm not saying that they shouldn't vote, or vote against Bush, but what planet are people living on if they are anti-Bush, but not so Pro-kerry?

I mean, what are their (Nader)issues?

I can say for the record, I don't like or even understand the platform John Kerry is running on, but Bush has to go!

Bush inc. will kill us all chasing a buck, and will cut legal corners to do it....

I don't know why they like Nader or what his issues are. I would guess the war is a big problem for many people. His pandering to the right would be another problem for people. His behavior during the primaries is another issue. I know several people who will not vote for him because of Iowa. Those are my problems with him.

I won't be taking a loyalty oath either so don't bother demanding that I tell you how I am going to vote.

Look at the poll. Don't try and pretend you can't see the support Nader is getting. I don't think he was polling that high a few months ago. Don't try to pretend that Nader's support is not an issue.
Who Kerry picks as running mate will make a big difference in November. If he choses some DLC approved VP candidate, he is making a big mistake.

You can get as snotty with me as you want, that's not going to make this all go away. If Kerry wants to win, he might want to remember who his loyal base is. It's not the Nascar Dads.
