Of Gods, Holy Wars and Testosterone
- The people of nations never start wars...it's always their leaders. But why do some leaders go to war when it's not necessary? Why do they make up lies to justify wars against the will of the people?

- We learned from Vietnam that the United States was willing to sacrifice thousands of American lives rather than 'cut and run' in an unnecessary war that divided a generation of Americans.

- And now we're seeing the same thing in Afghanistan and Iraq. The main objective and rationale for the so-called war on terror isn't being fought in these places. We're not there to 'fight terrorists on their soil' because those who attacked us are not in the places we're fighting.

- America is again sacrificing young Americans in an unnecessary war that's once again dividing the nation and the world. This time the US fights so that George Bush* can call himself a 'war president' and congress can loot the treasury.

- Both sides in the 'war on terror' say that God is 'on their side'. They can't know this of course because God doesn't have conversations with mere mortals. Don't believe it when Bush* or bin Laden tell you God is guiding their works. It's more likely that testosterone is guiding their actions than God. Bush* and bin Laden are very much alike in that they kill innocents in a 'holy war' and then blame it on God. God told them to go to war...so it's not THEIR fault when innocents die and nations fall.

- But it IS their fault and they ARE to blame. God isn't guiding either one of these fools. The blood of thousands of innocent men, women and CHILDREN is on their hands. They must be brought to justice. Bush* must be impeached and bin Laden arrested and brought to trial so that a healing process can take place. This would show the world the true meaning of American Justice and pave a path towards peacemaking instead of warmongering.

1. I agree
I'm tired of leaders twisting the words of prophets to suit their own ends. In the Qur'an, God says that one should try every means to maintain peace, and that war only comes when one is not allowed to practice their faith. Once the enemy concedes and again follows God, war must cease. Nothing in there about wars for oil or power. Same can be said of the Bible and Torah.

13. Perhaps Many People Around The Globe Really Want To Practice Their Faith
but are so impressionable they are misguided by the divisive propaganda spewing out by ego and profit driven Leaders.

I do hope that the Religious Left becomes ever more organized and willing to make a stand.

We've had enough of the phony macho rhetoric from this miserable failure, this War Crimes President. That's all there is to it, and we know it.

3. There is no danger like the Emotional id, the inner mind which controls
our actions ... often overcoming logic, reason, etc.

Madness rules when the Misled sheep fail to question.

4. Gen. Boykin
said "my god is bigger than their god."

If you are familiar with the prophet Elijah and the scene on Mount Carmel, this is now playing out again. Gen. Nutbar and his bosses now seek to prove to the Islamics that their god is bigger by calling down fire from heaven.

The difference is that in the Old Testament, it really was an alleged supernatural event. Now it's just called an airstrike.

5. The only place where God
figures in for Bush, bin Laden, others of their ilk is a convenient excuse for their actions.

6. War is Economics. Other justifications are propaganda.
And as for the 'God' element of the justification, in the early 80s when the religious fanatics in Iran and the PTL 700 club were taking the international stage to revive the Crusades, Frank Zappa put out a rap song called 'Dumb All Over' which said "If God made us to look just like him, then he's dumb all over and even a little ugly on the side..."

7. It's always prefaced with, "We have no quarrel with the people of ______.
Then we proceed to kill tens of thousand of them.

8. "We" don't kill anyone...Bush* is doing the killing in our name...
- The people of Iraq and the US didn't want war. They would have preferred to find peaceful solutions. But we never got a vote and so it was left up to those the MAJORITY of Americans rejected at the voting booth.

- Another reason why democracy and 'free elections' are so important.

9. Unfortunately, I think the support rate for the "war" was 87%
at the beginning. Of course, it's changed now, but we still have a whole lot of people here who don't think the war is wrong.

And there will be -- probably already are -- billboards like they had in the 60s and early 70s, that the US oughta just nuke Iraq and get it over with.

10. Bush hasn't personally killed anyone
The war tribunals after the second world war showed the "only following orders" defense to be invalid.Bush had enough support in congress and in the streets to send troops, those troops are doing the slaughtering, perhaps they are simply trapped by fear of imprisonment but the truth is simply that should our troops refuse to commit such actions no war is possible.

Bush and bin Laden, as well as a host of unfit leaders everywhere seem able to appeal to a base instinct within us all. To the folks on the street the acts of 9/11 make anything we do in reprisal simply 'self defense' and 'they' had it coming anyway.Likewise the treatment of third world citizens for many generations gives bin Laden a certain credibility for his support and contribution to the slaughter of innocents among those abused by capitalism.

Imagine, if you will, that we had a two party system here in America. Imagine that the opposition party had, from 9/12, challenged each and every action by the Bush administration to carry out personal goals, to weaken and abuse our liberties, to shit on our constitution in order to enrich themselves and their friends. Just imagine.......

11. LACK of Testosterone is more like it.
Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rumsferatu, limp-dicks all. Not a non-chemically-induced stiffy in the bunch.

Rumsferatu gets his jollies from smartbomb camera footage and torture videos. Cheney and Bush are all "So, a 'Limp old Man', am I? WATCH THIS!"

I have held this theory for a long time, and I think it's a bit sexist to blame violence on "too much testosterone". Let me ask you this, when we have one of those Fundy-brainwashed women killing her kids, do people say "oh, she must not have had enough Estrogen in her..." of course they don't, that's crazy. But let a bunch of old white men go to war, and everyone's all "Oh, that's what Testosterone poisoning gets you! Dicks get hard and people die!"

For exhibit "A", may I present Bill Clinton? That man had a lot of Testosterone, but we had a hell of a lot more peace and were much safer then than we are now.

These fuckers in charge now are fresh out of Testosterone, so they act out in other ways. Dicks can't get hard, so Nations pay for it.

And I recall something the Jehovah Witnesses told me once that I think is very true. In WWI, you had American bishops telling the Faithful that God wanted them to go kill Germans. On the other side of the ocean, German bishops told THEIR faithful "Gott mit Uns" and it was His will that they kill Americans and Brits.

Another reason I don't believe in the existance of GAWD. Would an omnipotent being be capable of being so bored that He'd inspire his "children" to go kill each other in His name just for kicks?
