Why oh why might Clinton have hated Starr?
Could it be that he subpeonaed the 16 year old son of a friend?

http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-clintonstarr.html

29. Starr held Monica Lewinsky without a lawyer for eight or nine hours. (She was technically free to go, but coerced psychologically with threats of 27-year prison sentences.)
30. Starr tried to force Marcia Lewis, Lewinksy's mother, to testify against her. (She became ill as a result.)
31. Starr's investigators were bearing guns when they interrogated Lewinksy's brother.
32. Starr tried to pressure Whitewater witness Steve Smith to testify falsely, according to Smith.
33. Starr threatened Whitewater witness Sarah Hawkins with indictment without any evidence of wrong-doing.
34. Starr subpoenaed a sixteen-year old boy at his school to intimidate him.
35. Starr subpoenaed Robert Weiner for making a phone call from his home.
36. Starr kept Susan McDougal locked in jail for eighteen months and tried to get her to testify to an imaginary affair.
37. Starr subpoenaed White House aide Sidney Blumenthal for talking with the press about his investigation.
38. Starr subpoenaed a Little Rock home decorating store where Webster Hubbell shopped.

1. All I can say is
that Ken Starr might change any vacation plans he might have to go to Little Rock or Hot Springs this summer-they showed that film about how Clinton was hounded by the reich wing down there and folks aren't feeling kindly towards him.

14. The Hunting of the President
the film will show a lot of Republicans to be the complete *ssholes that they are. A lot of them are still in Arkansas today.

2. DAMN! Great find!
I was impressed with the Starr list. But I was even more fascinated with the rest of the site. A virtual clearing house of info to use when taking on wingnuts.

It earned a bookmark from me.

Thanks.

12. I saw it
I only caught part of it, but he had some very weird things to say about Clinton and most of it was rather complimentary. I wasn't buying his "let bygones be bygones" attitude. It was kind of revolting really, after the near-criminal disservice he did to the President and this country. Starr basically stole more than 40 million bucks of taxpayer money and nearly ruined numerous lives to investigate a few blow jobs and to try and settle personal and ideological scores for his flaming right-wing benefactors, and himself.

As for bow-tie boys' new job, the show was rather bland IMO. I have no idea what PBS is thinking in hiring this twerp, but I will be letting them know that they won't be getting any donations from me because of it.

7. Snake? snake?
Snakes are wonderful compared to him. Maggot seems to fit him--it feeds on filth.

6. Actually, Kline (Time magazin) on TPM today said that press had
been totally wrong in NOT DISCUSSING STARR'S relentless hounding of Clinton BEFORE the Monica affair...(too little too late, don't you think?) And of course NOVAKULA disagreed with Kline. He said that what Starr did was correct, even sending McDougall(sp?) to prison..

11. Without any proof, my take is that ole PornStarr was a figurehead
The three judge panel appointed Starr to get the Washington press on board, especially the WaPo. So many people, from both sides, thought Starr was an even handed man. The real damage, the real venom, was from the second line people, such as Hickman Ewing.
If the Dems were ever to take back to the government, I would like to see Starr and Ewing go to jail for what they did to Susan MacDougall. Seeing them spend 18 months in Sybil Brand Institute in LA would suit me just fine.
