Worst of All Worlds
previously posted on GD 2004 Campaign

The worst failure of the Wilson administration was his inability to create alliances with our European allies after WWI

The worst failures of the Harding and Coolidge administrations were the attempts to destroy Labor Unions, and the economic policy that laid the ground work for the Great Depression

The worst failure of the Hoover administration was an economic policy that cost Americans millions of jobs

The worst failures of the Roosevelt administration was his inability to protect the homeland from a sneak attack, and the exposing of war profiteering

The worst failure of the Truman administration was his inability to unite a divided nation

The worst failures of the Eisenhower administration was his detached approach to the presidency, and excessive vacations

The worst failure of the Kennedy administration was his inability to foresee and prevent an oncoming war

The worst failure of the Johnson administration was the lie that started that war

The worst failures of the Nixon administration was his hiring corrupt and arrogant men, and illegally using the government to spy on and discredit their critics

The worst failures of the Ford administration was his pardoning others' crimes, and giving the presidency the appearance of bungling, inept leadership

The worst failures of the Carter administration was allowing this country to be held hostage by the Middle-East, and the resulting record high gas prices

The worst failures of the Reagan administration was the encouragement of intolerance in American society, and the creation of huge budget defects

The worst failures of the Bush(41) administration was his failure to create jobs and have the economy move forward

The worst failures of the Clinton administration was his inability to prepare America from the oncoming terrorist threat, and the outsourcing of jobs

The failures of the present Bush (43) administration is ALL OF THE ABOVE

2. If you've ever read any of my posts
I try to give bush the benefit of the doubt when he deserves it, but I think you are right on target with all of the points you made.

4. The point is

that every president has accomplishments and failures. But this nit-wit is repeating the failures of every president in the past 70 years, and can't point to a single accomplishment.

7. Thanks for the compliment
sometimes I need them. My most frustrating days are when I have to argue with some of the members I represent to convince them how important it is to defeat Bush. Today was one of those days. I try to explain to them this election is not about Kerry, it's about eliminating an administration that's committed to destroying labor unions. Our job security, our earning power, our benefits, our safety standards are all at stake in this election, and there are some I just can't get through to. But, alas, the fight goes on.

louis c. I got to talking to some of the supporters of Bush, and I'm sure you have encountered it too. They would never defend the asshole directly and speak to the issues, they would always bring in some other President's failures. For instance, if I talked about the Iraq war, Kennedy and Johnson's participation in the Viet-Nam war would come up. If I talked about the economy, up comes Carter. When I was critical of Bush about outsourcing, they would point out Clinton's role. Never, never would they defend that nit-wit in the white house on his on merit. So, I got to thinking that he hasn't done a F'n thing right, but the defense has been these failures of others, so I did a little research, and lo and behold, Worst of all worlds.

12. I disagree that Clinton's worst failure was not preparing for terrorism...
Richard Clarke talks about all they did during Clinton's term. If you'd said Clinton's worst failure was womanizing, I could have agreed--but then that wouldn't fit with the punchline I guess.

13. Wow,...louis c!!!
Fabulous post!!! :bounce:

If we could agree on the failures, then we could work on improving the future.

Your list is an incredibly impressive proffer!!!

I applaud you!

14. This is really, really good
Except that you should drop 'after WWI' under Wilson, so that it can apply to B* as well.

16. Actually don't blame the Wilson Administration
It was the Republicans in Congress who killed American involvement in the League of Nations and formented over two decades of isolationism.

17. It's still a failure
and this little recitation has to have some latitude, after all, to fit the present President. Every issue can't fit exactly. It's the point I raised to an earlier reply to this post. Bush supporters can't defend him without bringing up another President's similar failure.
