Harkin takes on military media (get that lying Limbaugh off the air)

U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, launched an offensive this week against the Armed Forces Radio and Television System, or AFRTS, which he says isn’t fairly airing liberal commentary along with its daily dose of conservative talk radio.

Earlier this week, Harkin sponsored — and the Senate passed — a measure that calls on the Defense Department to ensure to maintain balance in its political programming.

Still, it touched a nerve this week. Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host, devoted a part of his program to it Thursday. “This, my friends, is censorship,” he said. His Web site even has a poster of the host with an American flag over his mouth and the label, “The Senate vs. Rush Limbaugh.”

Harkin’s office says commentators like Al Franken, who has his own radio show on the new, left-wing Air America network, should be added to the mix. Of course, who knows? If Franken is aired in Iraq, might Iowa be next?

We all know that Rush is continuously lying his a** off. Exposing our soldiers to Rush's lies without having anyone to counter them IS censorship.

The bad thing is that people with little intellect and no critical thinking skills think that he is telling the truth. They don't do their own research to find out the truth.
