Proposal Warns Evangelicals on Politics
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A national evangelical group is mulling guidelines that would warn the faithful against allying themselves too closely with any one political party, "lest nonbelievers think that Christian faith is essentially political in nature."

A draft of guidelines circulating in the National Association of Evangelicals advises believers to "be careful to avoid the excesses of nationalism" while maintaining a commitment to religious freedom at home and abroad.

The framework, obtained by the Los Angeles Times, exhorts evangelicals to oppose "social evils" such as alcohol, drugs, abortion and stem-cell research.

The proposal shows that evangelicals have become more conscious of their political impact, experts told the Times in Sunday's newspaper.

2. I imagine they are trying to kid all the people who believe in
sky gods to begin with.

It is easy to kid these people.

Some cannot believe in such fairy tales, but those who do, are prone to be persuaded by other falsities especially if it comes from those who purport to have a direct line to that god.

4. You think of the Christian deity as a sky god?
I always thought of him as a volcano sort myself, what with destroying Sodom and Gommorah with fire and brimstone, leading the Israelites out of Eypt with a pillar of fire and speaking to Moses on Mt. Sinai in the form of a burning bush. Just my opinion.

6. Also, when Abraham was ordered to sacrifice Isaac,
didn't he take him up to a mountain top to offer him to god?

7. Here is the passage. Genesis, Chapter 22:14
Abraham named the place (where he took Isaac to be sacrificed, Yahweh-yireh." Hence even to this day people say, "on the mountain of the Lord provision will be made."

So it's my opinion that our present day god was once one of many gods worshipped by the inhabitants of Ur, where Abraham came from, and this particular one was a volcano or mountain god.

10. well there was this big tent over the earth
and he lived up there in that place.

So that is why he can be referred to as the sky god

No one has ever ever viewed this place in spite of all the travels being done by the Hubble satellite and all the pictures we have beamed down to us never ever have shown this "tent" over the earth

I just find it hard to understand why people believe there is a person like being called a god who lives there.

8. Sorry, I got side-tracked. What I wanted to say was that
maybe the evangelicals are becoming worried over whom they have gotten into bed with.
