6. Absolutely chilling
I wouldn't believe such a person actually exists if I didn't have a brother-in-law who expouses the same vile facist drivel. It's all so simple to them, isn't it? And exactly how do you implement the erasure of a nation's private vehicles? Our troops in Iraq are already over extended and exhasted. The Army has been denied leave. More Marines are being sent. And now martial law is being promoted. How exactly is this supposed to happen? I think the Bushies read too many comic books. These are people with no understanding of how work actually gets done. Maybe because it's always someone else doing the work.

8. I hear this sentiment all the time
I have a friend who calls himself pro-life. He advocates dropping several MOAB bombs on Fallujah and he's not kidding.

9. Must have been listening to O'Reilly. They don't like us? Fine. Kill 'em.
From the June 17 broadcast of The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: Because look ... when 2 percent of the population feels that you're doing them a favor, just forget it, you're not going to win. You're not going to win. And I don't have any respect by and large for the Iraqi people at all. I have no respect for them. I think that they're a prehistoric group that is -- yeah, there's excuses.

Sure, they're terrorized, they've never known freedom, all of that. There's excuses. I understand. But I don't have to respect them because you know when you have Americans dying trying to you know institute some kind of democracy there, and 2 percent of the people appreciate it, you know, it's time to -- time to wise up.

And this teaches us a big lesson, that we cannot intervene in the Muslim world ever again. What we can do is bomb the living daylights out of them, just like we did in the Balkans. Just as we did in the Balkans. Bomb the living daylights out of them. But no more ground troops, no more hearts and minds, ain't going to work....They're just people who are primitive.

11. Hmm
First of of,this self-proclaimed former teacher twice used the incorrect phrase "there's excuses". "There's" is a contraction for "there is" and if you said "there is excuses" that would obviously be pathetic grammar. Of course, shrub uses this very same contraction incorrectly all the time and nobody says a word, so I guess Bill thought he could get away with it too.

As for his using the Balkans as an example of how we should have handled Iraq (from a distance) maybe he forgot when he said that this was Clinton's decision to not put our troops in harm's way in that conflict, not to mention that Clinton was, and is to this day, roundly criticized by the right for doing anything at all in the Balkans. Things that make you go hmmmm...."O'Reilly's an asshole".

12. i'm amazed at what people think and believe
last night we had a fathers day bbq for my girlfriends dad, a retired chief of police and navy veteran with a masters degree in public admin. his son turned the talk to politics and dad got very mad at the anti-bush sentiment in the room he actually said "kerry is an asshole. we needed bush to fight the war against terror. what does john kerry know about fighting a war or running a business?"

i was dumbfounded. i didn't even bother. for months i have been preaching anti-bush to anyone who would listen but i had no argument. i wasn't going to attack the naivete of the guest of honor, but i was shocked at his attitude.

writing this reminds me of another incident with a friends boyfriend, the topic of the war came up and he spent ten minutes detailing all the wmd that has been discovered and the investigations that showed saddam was in al-queda. in his mind the war was justified because of all the evidence. i asked where he got that info and he said "from the news". i believe the news is slanted, but they have not gone that far. (at least not the news this guy is exposed to.) i pressed him and got him to realize he had no idea where he heard that particular "news" and was quite surprised when he realized that no one has produced a single piece of evidence about wmd's since the war started and his argument was completely without basis. i actually saw a flash of realization in his dull eyes for just a second......

i just got myself pissed off again.......
