Messing with Ballots-treason
With evidence that 1.9 million black votes were not counted in the 2000 election ( Ashcroft must be so proud) I propose that tampering with ballots be made a hangable offense.
I would love to see us noose the offenders in the public square so that all may pass by and see the price of denying voting rights to one's fellow citizens. Can there be anything -ANYTHING- more un-American and treasonous than this?

1. let's be accurate
1.9 million lost votes, yes
1.9 million Black votes, no

around half (or 1 million) of the lost votes were from Blacks, but not the entire 1.9 spoiled votes.

2. Agreed-
and Ashklan should be the FIRST to hang, so that the others (Bush, Cheney, Jebbie, Baker, the SCOTUS) can WATCH and start sweating out THEIR turns!

3. I think perhaps this is an extreme response ...
FIRSTLY: Because we, as liberals and progressives, decry the usage of capital punishment on the whole ... WHY promote it now ?

SECONDLY: Even if we DID promote the death penalty: one might presume that a decent society wouldnt automatically jump to the ultimate punishment at the first sign of malfeasance or fraud ... How about 5 years in Leavenworth as a first offence punishment, THEN an escalating sentence based on priors ? ...

5. I'll accept that -
first offense (if no aggravating circumstances)- 5 years at hard labor, second offense - life, Affecting the outcome of a presidential election - drawing and quartering.

6. Hmmmmm
I'm a "progressive" who thinks if you rape a kid you are like a rabid dog. Die. I know the Death Penalty is not carried out in any justifiable way in America, but I think that screwing with the democratic process is a hangable offense. Even if only half the votes were those of blacks, (pardon my error) what are we putting up with? How can this be from those who call themselves Patriots? Hang em high and watch 'em swing......

4. Cheating in elections is as old as elections themselves.
Here's one for you: in the 1960 election, so many dead voted in Chicago that Kennedy won Illinois. Had he not won, Nixon would have been elected and killed in Texas. With Nixon out of the way, there would have been no Watergate. Johnson would never been able to expand the Vietnam war.

You would think with all the technology we have, voting would still not be in the same shape it was in 1776.

7. That's an old lie
that, without Kennedy getting Illinois, Nixon would have won. It was started by none other than Nixon himself, the master of lying. I believe that no other election fraud in U.S. history was as big as Fla. 2000.
