My sympathies to the CT residents. Hope you'll find a better Dem candidate for Gov in '06.

2. State Atty Gen. Richard Blumenthal
He's a real good guy, most people like him a lot, he's a Democrat and he'd win in a cakewalk. Now all we have to do is convince him to run!

He's been waiting for an opportunity like this for at least two decades (i.e. since I actually lived there). The problem has always been that he's from "downstate" Fairfield County (the part that fits into N.Y. like a jigsaw piece): great for fundraising (Westport, Greenwich, etc.) but bad for access to the state's power structure (all but one TV station, and the major daily, are in Hartford).

Now that Rowland's tomfoolery has given the race more of a national profile, Blumenthal's time may very well have come.
