Clinton's mention of Ken Starr is a rallying cry for the "troops" and
a reminder to the general voting population of the crap that the RW did ...
I hope he repeats the same point over and over...the $70 million dollars which yielded ZIP; the right wing "conspiracy"--except that was the wrong word, it was out in the open; the parting shot...that the whole thing was "BOGUS" and all about power....

On BBC WS today, I heard Joe Klein say he was SHOCKED that Clinton considered the impeachment a badge of honor. Well, what Clinton said was that it's a badge of honor because he fought it and didn't give in to it.
Klein is missing the whole point of this if he thinks Clinton was going to be "apologetic" for what the RW did to him, from the day he got into office.

If you think about it---Clinton is throwing this all in the RWers' faces!
He is directly challenging them, he is NOT HIDING. He is EXPOSING them for the POS that they are...

Frankly, I take this as a huge thing....because it shows fight and I think sends a message to all of us....and the general public...that it is time to fight. And that fact that he is now going to be out there for Kerry means he will continue to remind people of all this, by his very presence. I don't think he will overshadow Kerry, I think some of his fighting spirit is going to inspire Kerry.

1. I posted a thread on this yesterday

saying just what you are - he's making Starr an issue again, which is absolutely brilliant. And I'm certain John Kerry is well aware of this strategy, since Clinton's people and the Kerry campaign are working together.

Clinton also is absorbing all these hits from the RW and media, giving Kerry a breather.

8. I'm so glad you said that..
I've been hoping Kerry would merge the two camps into one cohesive force. A force bold enough to overcome the reepers plans using religious discord to further their agenda..While BC is maintaining them at chaos level, they are statically frustrated accomplishing nothing.

2. Payback's a bitch, eh, Gloria?
Obviously, the NYT's critic is doing his part in trashing the book...and the NYT was certainly gung-ho in their efforts to further the smear attacks on Clinton. The same suspects who were active participants in the orchestrated attacks on BC are now going on the defensive. I love it.

3. Clinton is doing the right thing.
The Republicans went too far in their political attack. What they did was purely to gain political advantage and because they did not temper themselves, it distracted this country away from important matters.

Ken Starr was an enabler. He abused his position. He knows it too, because he said the position of special prosecutor could be abused for political advantage. What Ken Starr admitted in making that comment is that he was never objective enough to do the job. The position of special prosecutor should only be given to someone who has proven to be bi-partisan. Ken Starr was never the right man for the job.

4. Ken Starr has proven himself to be "not right" for any job...
IMHO. The man should be in jail for subverting the laws of this land. Seriously!

5. The Hunting of the President
the book has been out for a couple of years. The movie comes out soon. It tells the story of the most extreme of the right wing extremists, and how they tried to destroy the Clinton Presidency.

7. Clinton was impeached by the House...and ACQUITTED by the Senate.
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 10:05 PM by stopbush
Guess what? That means he was INNOCENT of the *crimes* alleged by the House. End of story. HE WON!!

As far as the blowjob - if anyone deserved a few perks for what he did for the country, it was Bill. That affair was between him and Hillary, just like 41's longtime affair was between him and Babs, etc, etc.

Republicans are the scum of the Earth. That's the bottom line. I can't abide any of them anymore. Fuck 'em all. I hope they all lose their jobs and end up on skid row or in prison. It would serve 'em right. Bastards.
