The "marriage amendment act" is an election scam
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 08:16 PM by devrc243
Bush knows it will take 2/3 of the Senate to pass this. Even though he knows the House will, he probably assumes it will fail in the Senate, therefore leaving this whole issue moot when it's all said and done. He knows the southern baptist and the fundies are "his base" and to energize them on an issue that makes their blood boil only serves to him their undying support.

I often wonder how Cheney can "sell out" his daughter. He doesn't even support his own daughter, so it makes it clear he would sell his soul to the devil for his selfish greed.

I think this is just an election "prop" to get Bush's "base" sealed lock, stock, and barrel. I've never heard of the Constitution being amended for something "unconstitutional."

3. Nice family values. Turning on your own daughter. Of course, she'll
be rich when Dick's heart finally gives out. But what if she were poor. Would he really support policies which make it harder for her to be a member of society? Really? Maybe his heart has already stopped working.

through the left side of his mouth--don't worry, we're not really serious about this, it's just until after the election is over!

4. I dont think it will pass the house
but, yeah this is just a political ploy to draw attention away from the democratic convention, and as a way to play to their base.
