all the Daily Show really does is listen to what these guys say, and then spend 10 minutes finding out if it's true or not. How difficult is that? Why can't/don't "real" news shows do this?

...Iraq posed a unique threat.

This guy is such an idiot. Jon just slapped him down, "Oh, you're one to talk about what's been shown."

Jon's sharp, he said the above statement starting off "loud and clear" and ending it "subduded and hushed" (volume/tone). The dude didn't know what hit him. :P

13. Did Iran use WMDs?
I remember only Iraq using it during that war. hmmm... Clinton thought Sudan had chemical weapons that were really just aspirin. And nobody knows what Kim Jong Il has over there in North Korea. North Korea is probably the most dangerous of them all in my book.

17. Both Iraq and Iran used gas. Iran's deadly gas was thought to be the one
that reached the Kurds but both were using it. They could distinguish them by the odor.

30. With Jon's Popularity
Particularly among those 18-35, I think he is a tremendous force in pop culture. When he does a show like this, it has an incredible amount of influence.

Some people I know, knowing how much I pay attention to the news, will sometimes "confess" that the only place they get their news is from The Daily Show. As if that's a bad thing. I tell them, "You'll learn more from a half-hour of The Daily Show every day than from sitting in front of CNN, MSNBC, or (God forbid) Fox News ALL DAY LONG."

34. No Argument Here
When Brokaw, Jennings, Rather, Donaldson, or any of the rest of them talk, most people I know (mid twenties) pay no attention. But when Stewart speaks... they'll be talking about it the next day.

He is the most serious journalist on television, which is sad in a way. But it's also nice, because he has the kind of mass "pop culture" appeal that no other television journalist comes close to.

29. Just watched it
EXCELLENT!!!

"You do NOT want the new paradigm wrapped around your NUTS."

LOL!!!

Nailed Cheney!... "Mr. Cheney, your pants are on fire!"

Trashed the stupid hack and the crappy book he brought for "show and tell." Whatever his name is I don't care, but it was painful to listen to him hedge on every statement, but such a relief when Stewart smacked him down every time. These little twerps are so vain that they think they can come on The Daily Show and show us how smart they are, and get away with it.

Now what pissed me off was the preemption of the "Moment of Zen" and instead that asshole Colon Quinsy came on to trash Michael Moore! Grrr!!!
