Cindy Bashes the French----AND Spreads Their Quotes
*******QUOTE*******

http://www.nypost.com/gossip/cindy.htm

.... A restaurateur in Cannes sighed: "Ach! The Americans. Always the Americans. Again the Americans. Always trouble with the Americans. This is not France's problem. It is America's problem."

In his café they said: "The problem is Bush thought he could go into a foreign country and then go out when he was finished going in. He did this. He created another Vietnam."

A shopkeeper in Cap D'Antibes: "America's war, it is bad for our business." ....

..."America is a bully. Always it shows its big stick. Your country lied. It said Iraq had these terrible weapons. They do not. We do not have to care for this mess you made. We are not responsible." ....

Another: "This is the American war. Why are French penalized? Today I filled my car with gas. It wasn't even empty and it cost $45. Yesterday, $40. Two days, $85, and all because of the Americans." ....

2. Europeans don't hate the American people, just Bush
I have a friend who just got back from a 7 week stay in Europe, mostly in Germany and France. They are very knowledgeable about what is going on. They are worried about Americans civil liberties and are worried that Bush can't be defeated. She said she heard over and over, "We love the American people." They are also knowledgeable about the neo-cons, probably more than most Americans.

5. True: as individuals, they generally like us
I'll be in Germany for 6 weeks starting in July. I lived there for several years in the 80s and go back frequently for business and vacations.

But, I hear a lot of stuff about the US while taking public transportation there, and it ain't all good.

7. I just got back from France, Italy and the UK
And everyone everywhere was sweet, even when they found out I was from Texas. Europeans know that the individuals of a nation are not the same as its government's policies. I wish Americans could make that distinction.

4. Self Interest
The only nation allowed to act in it's own self interest is the United states of America; all other nations are either motivated by gratitude for all the great things America has done or by pure evil.

6. Remember ironic drivel?
You know, about the French soldier being upstaged by the (female) American soldier?

Frenchie being unwilling (actually, chivalrous) to fight the US GI?

Theoretically (although the tale has been debunked) taking place in Afghanistan, during the "war on terror".

RWers can't even keep their stories straight about how the "French refuse to aid the US in the war on 'terror'".
