2. what he says about the administrative overhead is true
it's very ineffecient and wastes billions. His solution is to move to electronic records instead of paper. This has worked for many large corporations so it may work for health care too.

3. There are many "large corporations" in healthcare
That have been pushing for electronic medical records, or some equivalent, for at least 10 years. However, there are problems for medical records that do not easily translate to the other industries that now use electronic records and transmission of information, that have prevented such from happening on a large scale. I think it is a little naive of Kerry's policy people to present that as a "solution", as if it could simply happen if the President would just get behind it. I think we need more creativity than that, though as Hilary Clinton found out, even creative solutions can be a morass of politics.

what does the fed gov have to do with it? i assume most of the big companies are already doing this kind of stuff. i know about half of the docs i deal with are already there.
