Interesting that AP counted 100 book buyers lined up to buy Clinton's book at midnight from the Lincoln Center Barnes and Noble, while the NYT counted only 36. Hmmm.

The AP counted about 100 people lined up at the BN at Lincoln Center to
buy the book at midnight last night, but the NY Times only tabulated
"about three dozen...," including former White House
staffers. A Books-A-Million in Arkansas drew about 80 people during
the night, and Washington's Politics and Prose drew about 1,000 people for
books and a voucher for a signature when Clinton appears at the store.
Sixteen Borders locations also stayed open late to begin sales at midnight.
The Daily News says fans started showing up at the Rockefeller Center BN
at noon yesterday to get wristbands for today's signing.
The Boston Globe focuses on the laydown of 350,000 copies of the
abridged audiobook, read by Clinton, itself a top 10 bestseller at Amazon
and BN.com. (In their review, USA Today opines that the audio version is
so popular because it is the only way to get an abridged version of the
lengthy book.)
Finally, in a review/feature, the Washington Post finds Clinton confirming
Monica Lewinsky's grand jury testimony:
"Without explanation, in his memoir Clinton departs
from his grand jury testimony and corroborates her
version: 'During the government shutdown in late 1995,
when very few people were allowed to come to work in
the White House, and those who were there were working
late, I'd had an inappropriate encounter with Monica
Lewinsky and would do so again on other occasions
between November and April, when she left the White
House for the Pentagon.' Clinton aides yesterday said
they could not explain the discrepancy, and his attorney,
David Kendall, was traveling and did not return a call."
