Could Kerry prosecute members of this administration,
once he is in power and they have left? Ashcroft, shrub, sneer, Rumsfeld, and (sadly) Colin Powell should all be charged for various degrees of treason and "pergury". Also add to the list Wolfowitz and any other subordinates - like KKKarl R - who have aided and abetted this dry drunk in their deceiving ways, and dereliction of duty. 9/11 was on these peoples' watch, and they were warned numerous times, and did nothing.

1. Kerry could just sign on to the World Court
and let the world take care of the criminals.

3. I hate to say it but...
the day ANY U.S. president signs on to the World Court is the first day of the end of their presidency. Do you believe that even a 1/4 of Americans would stand for ANY leader being tried in a WORLD court? Its a sovereignty issue.

2. Short answer-- NO.
It is a longstanding understanding that administrations do NOT pursue criminal or other actions against previous administrations for their actions in office.

To do so would lead to political vendettas and extending the problems for years. If someone in office does something possibly illegal, or just stupid, the proper remedies are impeachment or just voting them out.

5. Illegal?
That may be some sort of gentlemans understanding but those days are either over or the country is doomed. Bushes crimes surpass those of any other President in our history. Even more than his father. I suspect though that the reality will be as you describe it and we are fucked to repete the mistakes we have made with W with someone else in the not so distant future.

7. Not true...Read the Constitution..

After Impeachment and conviction.

Criminal charges can be filed.

This administration doesn't merit the longstanding understanding enjoyed by previous administrations. They were Judicially appointed and NOT duly elected by the People's Mandate. The officers of the Exeutive Branch of our government are no more than high falutin CEOs.

8. I didn't say they couldn't file charges...
just that it is normally not done. Ford pardoned Nixon for a reason.

I think most of us here agree tht this has become the most inept and corrupt administration in US history, but there is still at least a good third of the country that for some inexplicable reason still supports these assholes. A new administration is a time for healing, not for reopening old wounds and starting new wars.

For one thing, just what charges could be filed? We know they stole Florida, but the highest court in ther land put their stamp of approval on it. They got us into an illegal war, but that can still be argued to be stupidity, not criminality.

Much of what they have done has been with the consent of Congress, so where do the indictments stop?

Yeah, a part of me would love to see them in the slam, but it's just not likely to happen.

9. The House of Bush is going to fall with a big thud..

The third of the country you speak of are Bush supporters and his religious base. They will never be convinced Bush has done anything criminal. Why would we waste time trying to convince special interests groups like them? They have a vested interest in Bush remaining in the WH. He's their man and potential source of income.

Bush not only got us into an illegal war, HE LIED to the World. He produced fraudulent evidence to the UN and to Congress to attain Congressional approval to Declare War..His actions have caused tens of thousands of innocent deaths both to Iraqi civilians and American citizens..

The part of you that should know better is in denial, if you have selectively forgotten the meaning of the word TREASON.

Ford pardoned Nixon because Nixon resigned in disgrace and admitted his wrongdoing. Bush and his followers have committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors.. and trust me, the Truth is out there to make it stick.

4. He better otherwise hes next.
He gets no slack from me. As faras I am concerned he is a potential war criminal and must work to mitigate the damage he has done buy holding Bushes water buy putting the whole BFEE behind bars. If he does not work to this end openly and agressively he is as much our enamy as Bush and family.

10. What if Bush issues mass pardons
Like daddy (the earthly one) did?

If he pardons everyone in his administration before leaving office, is there any possible recourse? Can he pardon himself?
