Kerry Has Secretive Meeting With Edwards

Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) held a brief, secretive meeting with potential running mate John Edwards (news - web sites) on Tuesday, a spur-of-the-moment session in the Capitol that capped an unusual day of hurry-up-and-wait in the heavily scripted life of the Democratic presidential candidate.

The two men met in the President's Room, whether they knew the name or not, an ornate sitting room just off the Senate chamber, and they declined to speak with reporters afterward. While the brevity of the session indicated it was less than a full-fledged vice presidential interview, it came roughly a month before the opening of the Democratic National Convention, and at a time when Edwards is frequently mentioned as a potential running mate.

2. What Pissed Me Off

The same article mentions Repugnant-cans delaying the vote on this Veteran's issue, the whole reason Kerry returned to the Capitol. What a foul bunch they are.

4. I'd rather see Clark as Kerry's selection.

Edwards would be a better choice for AG, IMHO. But if he's Kerry's choice, I can be happy with this team.

7. I was a Clark supporter in the primaries

And would love to see him as Kerry's running mate.

But I've been thinking that Clark would make an even better Sec. Of State. He would make the Kerry Administration look damn good.

Edwards does add some charisma and vigor to the ticket, and he has no skeletons in the closet. The Helms Machine tore him apart and found nothing.

I'm a Clark fan, but I'm starting to see Edwards as being the best for the job.

...in two weeks. It was reported last week he met with him and Monday I heard on the radio that he was Kerry's selection.
