1. "My Life"?
If thats the book you mean then no thank you

"Unfortunately for the reader, Mr. Clinton's much awaited new autobiography "My Life" more closely resembles the Atlanta speech, which was so long-winded and tedious that the crowd cheered when he finally reached the words 'In closing . . .'"

7. Well, it's a good thing that
I don't listen to reviews. I'll decide for myself, which is undoubtedly a novel concept to some. :-)

2. I don't have it yet but ...
I am thinking about getting the audiobook version of it being President Clinton is such a great speaker/storyteller. I wonder if he is the orator for the audiobook - any idea?

You can buy it via www.theguyjamesshow.com ... there is a link to amazon.com from there and he'll get a little tidbit I suppose.

I think I'll go that way myself (Clinton has a great speaking voice IMO).

Welcome to the DU btw!! :hi:

11. Just brought it back from Barnes & Noble
They're selling it at a 30% discount and it had pride of place at the table facing the front entrance. With my readers' advantage discount added to the 30%, I paid $24.50. The text is 957 pages, plus 43 pages of Acknowledgments and index, plus 32 pages of photos. That's a lot of history per dollar.

Highlights include(according to the jacket):

Extraordinary frank exchanges with Newt Gingrich and Bob Dole; the delicate manipulation needed to convince Rabin and Arafat to shake hands for the camara while also keeping Arafat from kissing Rabin' the cost, both public and private, of the scandal that threatened the presidency.

So what if the text is rambling - I don't need to be spoon fed information in a rigid format. For most of us, ife does not play out in a neatly organized manner.

The only complaint I have as I approach this "read" is that the book is so big and bulky, it will be difficult to cart around. It's like my Contracts book from law school!
