should NOT have been posting to DU using a company computer and on company time. His employer was well within its rights to do what it did. Work computers and work time are for WORKING, not personal use for personal reasons. That's just common sense and something he should have realized from the beginning.

companies eyes. I would not do that even on a break. Than can fire you for that and you should assume that all company email and internet usuage is being monotored. This could bite you in the ass.

to that rank FreeRepublic site once and found a thread where all these wackjobs were all excited because they had a list of people who were against the war that they stole from a non-profit website, and now they were going through the list and calling people on the list to harrass them and calling their employers if it was obvious where they worked from the info they gave on the list.

Like four of them were gloating over the fact that they were getting this one guy thrown out of the armed forces.

What complete and utter scum of the earth, to do something like that. I couldn't believe it. What a bunch of sick, bitter little people.

But I am not about to let anyone threaten me on my rights to express my views in a peaceful manner. But I would suggest other people be more careful about giving out personal information, and not involving themselves with DU at work.

P.S. I hope the guy they are going to get thrown out is one of the soldier who is seeing his tour extended perpetually and wants to get out anyways. I bet there are quite a few who would be more than happy.....

20. It's a GEOCITIES page...it goes down every few minutes

when there is a load of traffic like it is probably getting now from DU. It is supposed to stop people from using their free web site as a commercial site. There is a message there that says the site "exceeded its allocated bandwidth." GeoCities gives a very small amount per hour, and as soon as so many of us clicked on the link, his site probably went down.
