was out tonight grabbing a bite at Denny's sitting near a LARGE table of types straight out of "Pleasentville". Heard enough to upset me greatly..

apparently there is a quiet 'movement' going around the country word-of-mouth (some comments about not letting it get to the internet ) to make sure 8 to 10 'martyrs' (their words) will be in every showing of 9/11 that they can manage... every few minutes one will stand up and either start quoting scripture or singing hymns at the top of their lungs, disrupt the showing, get thrown out... 10 minutes later another one stand up and does the same thing, hoping to disrupt things enough to cause showings to get cancelled and/or pull from theaters because of the disruptions...

couple this with the 'Young Rethulicans' groups that plan on trying to forcibly block theaters.... geeze....

Theatres stop pictures, call the police, continue playing. You do NOT rewind 50 pounds of celluloid. The show must go on, because there's no going back once you've got film straddling platters.

If people are buying tickets, theatres show it. I don't see porn theatres going down because of "disruptions."

1) More tix and sales for MM.

2) More publicity for the film from the brouhaha from these ejections and no doubt some arrests for disturbing the peace. Makes it onto local and national news. More people go to see the movie to see what all the fuss is about.

3) MM captures some of these idiots on film and shows it in his next TV or film project, showing the idiots for what they are and providing most excellent footage.

4) Shows they are afraid of what the movie has to say. If their King is really all that, a little criticism shouldn't hurt him, cough cough.
