to report slow sales of Big Dawg's book.

This is ludacris...he's sighting sales from Lubbock and N.E. Georgia and San Antonio...

Does the assface not even see that he himself is giving Bubba all sorts of free press? I've posted it before and I'll post it again. Mr. Fudge, if you're here reading this, this is for you:

1. LOL
A freeper made a dumb comment to me yesterday that I ought to get some knee pads if I was going to get Clinton to autograph a book for me. I told him he was just feeling threatened because this book wouldn't need bulk orders to make the NY Times list. His little head exploded.

13. I would agree, but...
When you consider the amount of crassness(to say the least...) we face in the media every day, regarding any of our politicians and important figures, a certain amount of crassness, in response, is understandable.

10. do you mean this op-ed piece?
By Anne Applebaum?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A62094-2004Jun22.html

" ...
Given that context, the book itself can only be described as disappointing, even bizarre. It isn't just that it's dull, like so many political memoirs, or that the sections on Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky are weirdly abrupt and uninformative; it's utterly lacking in perspective. Apparently, Clinton dawdled over the book for several years, concentrating on his childhood, and wound up racing to finish the final, presidential chapters this spring. The haste shows. ...

" ...Certainly some bad early reviews didn't dissuade those who had come to stand in the midnight line. Asked to explain their motivation for being there, some said they were bona fide admirers of the former president, while others said they hoped eventually to get an autograph. In the end, though, I'll wager that just as many were there because, as one woman put it, "This is a Washington event." People gather wherever they think history will be made and wherever the gold dust of fame might be sprinkled upon innocent bystanders -- however shallow that fame might turn out to be. "

8. I was just heading over here
to LOL at Drudge's obvious panic over Bill Clinton's best-selling book.

I suppose it would be mean-spirited to write him and ask exactly how many copies he sold of HIS book, how long it wasn't on the best-seller list, etcetera.

The right wing is in freefall. First Michael Moore commandeers the movie industry (and forces them to show a documentary at the neighborhood multiplex, God forbid,) now Bill Clinton is on every channel, at every bookstore, and pre-sold 1.4 million copies of his book besides.

I'm enjoying this.

Julie

Booksellers Predict Record Clinton Sales

"NEW YORK (AP) -- Booksellers on Wednesday predicted record nonfiction sales for the debut of Bill Clinton's autobiography as the former president told television interviewers he did not immediately come clean about the Monica Lewinsky affair because he thought he'd lose office.

"... "My Life" was released throughout the United States with a first printing of 1.5 million. Barnes & Noble had estimated that between 90,000 and 100,000 copies would sell Tuesday in the United States, a record debut for a nonfiction book. On Wednesday, Borders also reported a record first day for nonfiction, with worldwide sales topping 50,000, more than double the previous high, for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Living History." ...

"... In Ireland, which the ex-president still visits yearly for golf and lucrative speaking engagements, Dubliners lauded Clinton as a driving force behind the country's 1990s economic boom and the peace process in neighboring Northern Ireland.

"Clinton was a charmer, whereas Bush is just scary," said Pat Huxtable, a psychotherapist thumbing through a copy of "My Life" in a Dublin bookstore. ..."

15. And it's right aftter Reagan week....
....I mean, it is a coincidence that Reagan died right before Clinton's book was released. However, if Clinton wasn't all over the news with his great book, I'm sure the media would still be fawning over Ronald Reagan.

Reagan has been bumped to the back pages

23. Both Perspectives
Conservatives got to spend a week in fond admiration of Reagan, Liberals get to spend a wkk in fond admiration of Clinton.

Then both sides look at the empty suit currently occupying the White House and agree that they don't make presidents the way they used to...

16. The media has always hated Bill Clinton, and now he's in payback mode
They just can't stand it when the public refuses to buy into their propaganda.

Stellar approval ratings in spite of mainstream media's pornographic Monica obsession, and now stellar book sales in spite of mainstream media's negative reviews.

22. Truth be told...
Dixville Notch, population 33 (all republican), ponied up money and bought a copy, making the tiny hamlet show the highest per capita in sales for Clinton's book in the nation. In true thrifty Yankee fashion they're sharing the book.

20. Actually According to the AP...
At Hastings Books, Music & Video in Waco, Texas, near President Bush (news - web sites)'s adopted hometown of Crawford, manager Steven Kling said he expected to sell out of his store's 100-plus copies by day's end.

"This is Bush Country, but we've had a lot of interest over the last several weeks," Kling said. "With the television going crazy on the coverage, it's a big hit."

25. slow sales?
don't think 1,000,000 copies pre-ordered really constitutes slow sales - one book store reported that people were buying them out of the box, store didn't have a chance to put them on the shelves. He also said that he's only seen this happen with Harry Potter books...

ooops, my mistake -- GOPers have revised the dictionary

if it's a GOPer endorsed book and it sells less than 100 copies then it's a best seller and goes into a 5th printing

if it's a DEM book, then any sales less than the current amount of the bush* deficit means the book is a flop

28. LOL!! Gotta love that Drudge.
THIS JUST IN: Sales "a bit lower than expected" in Muncie Indiana!! DEVELOPING HARD...

This phenomenon is closely related to the "Freeping" of F911 - none of these people seem to get the old adage that "no publicity is bad publicity." The Freepers have nearly guaranteed that F911 is going to break tons of box office records. Meanwhile, Drudge is promoting Clinton non-stop, even by attacking him. The whole "BBC Blowup" thing is another example.

It's no wonder liberals dominate Hollywood - because conservatives don't understand showbiz one bit.

in front of "udge" or "rudge" to refer to him (i.e. Pudge, Fudge, Grudge, Sludge). It's a sign of dismissing & disrespect, just like John Lennon does in his letter to Todd Rungren. http://trconnection.com/trc/lennon.html

(If you're thinking I'm referencing a derogatory remark towards homosexuals, I'm not. I don't even believe him to be gay. Only heard rumors recently and find it hard to believe.)
