it maybe true that a majority of voters don't want gay marriage yet, but only a small minority will consider altering our constitution for such a purpose. It may rally the base, but it will also get every single voting-age GLB person to the polls and stir the liberal base. We would win by a landslide.

they know, the only way to win in November is to get low voter turn out. If every single eligible voter in the US actually voted, Dems would win by at least 20 points. Jeb has already referred to San Francisco residents as "an endangered species", so SF is a prime target. An alternate strategy for them might be to hit Vancouver BC, close enough to the US to bring on the martial law (as Tommy Franks already suggested) while at the same time dragging Canada into the "war on terra" whether they want to be or not. Which also crosses them off the list of safe havens, should the Bush Reich continue :(
