Can anybody help with info on *'s war on the vets?

I am trying to convert a repuke friend who refuses to remove the blinders - Good information on asswipe*'s attempts to eliminate/cut veteran benefits (he is ex Air Force) will help him see the light.

1. Lots of sources

Contact the DAV they have a web site and publish a magazine the Disabled American Veterans have NOT been happy with W. The tone has been increasingly tense and the letters at the beginning are a gold mine.

The Army Times and Navy Times also have some interesting info. You will also find that there has been an increase in anti W letters as well.

Personally, as the wife of a disabled vet I can say there has been increases in VA copays, an order to stop outreach programs to help homeless vets get into the system. Longer waits. The improvements in the physical structure of the VA hospitals were passed years ago.

They have been fighting concurrent receipt which is being forced down their throats.

Care at the Navy hospital is going down the tubes longer waits, no pediatrician anymore at my clinic. Redundant paperwork and when going to civillian hospitals payments are denied so often the hospital wants to pull out of an agreement to see military families.

2. Contact Mike Byron, who's running agains Issa in North San Diego County

He's a vet. But worse than the treatment of the Vets is the treatment of Camp Pendleton Marines. Bush and Issa have decided that sub-human conditions that lead to sickness are good enough for the marines and their families, while Republicans on the armed services commmittee, like Darrel Issa, Duncan Hunter and Ken Calvert, are making a fortune selling nearby quality base housing to private developers.

If Kerry campaigned with Mike, Kerry would win the military vote.
