What's the deal with this Wolfowitz fellow ?
Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 06:13 PM by kentuck
Is he the "main man" in the PNAC crowd? Where was he born? Just how strong is his support for Israel? Did he think a "democratic" Iraq would help the security of Israel? Just how strongly did he believe that before the invasion? He's rather a despicable looking character. Is he operating in the interests of America or Israel? This is not meant to be an anti-Israeli thread, but this guy seems like the type of person that would tell America to get fucked - he has to protect the interests of Israel. That bothers me. If he feels that strongly about Israel, why doesn't he just move to Israel? Or am I reading him wrong?

1. Google him and Perle and Strategic and Israel and Institute and ...
and you'll get an eyeful. His loyalties are with Israel, not America. The point was not a Democratic Iraq. It was to destabilize the ME, for reasons I'll leave to your imagination.

4. Yep, and him and his nitwit buddies thought that the world would be
'singing' about their daring exploits for generations.

Damn dangerous twits.

5. right cookiebear
The war has gone exactly as planned. A humiliated, barbaric, deracinated Iraq was the goal. The new flag says it all.

8. Nope, you read him right. He's a fascist pro-Israel PNAC'er,
who's dual loyalties have done grave damage to this nation. He is a traitor and seditionist in the truest sense. With his neonazicon friends in PNAC (Perle, Abrams, Libby, Cheney, Bolton, Woolsey, Kristol, et al), and fellow dual loyalists like Joe Lieberman, Tom Lantos, Tom DeLay, and many others, our nation has been sold down the river. These people, in conjunction with radical Christians, have managed to usurp the power of the U.S., and have it directed to support Israel's fascist/imperialist/apartheid goals.

Our founding fathers warned against allowing "outside forces" to pervert our nation's constitution and foreign policy, yet these traitors have done just that.

And notice, I am no longer separating the word "Israel", for say, "Likudniks". The majority of the Israeli people are, and have been, supporting these fascist pro-apartheid bastards (Sharon and his Likudnazis), and must take responsibility for their positions.

9. Evidence, please
Show an election result, poll, or whatever, that shows the MAJORITY of Israelis support Sharon or the Likud.

13. The evidence is plain and simple. Israel is a democracy (such
as it is), and the Likud are in power because a majority voted not only for them, but for their coalition partners. What more proof do you need? If a true majority were against Likud's policies, and those of the even more conservative and radical parties allied with them, they would vote them out. For the last four or five elections, the people of Israel have chosen to return Sharon to power. Enough said.

16. You obviously have no understanding of Israel's electoral system
And further: Sharon was elected then re-elected once, not "four or five" times.

Don't bother responding for my sake; I'm through with you.

10. just Google "Paul Wolfowitz Israel"
you can read for hours and hours..... Recently divorced from Clare Selgin, he has 3 kids (Sara, David and Rachel) all in their twenties, none serving in the US military, but I have a hunch they may have served in the Israeli Military as a dual passport requirement. He makes many, many trips over there, has a sister living there, Laura Sachs. As for moving there, he probably will when he retires.

18. I roll my eyes at the Zionist conspiracy theorists here...
:eyes:

Wolfowitz is not a strong hardliner pro-Israeli "fascist" as people are claiming... anyone familiar with Wolfowitz's past know he's a hawk, but one of the few that acknowledges the suffering of the Palestinians, as well as supporting a Palestinian State.

Furthermore, Wolfowitz was heckled at a 2002 pro-Israeli event because of his views about the Palestinians.

I disagree with Wolfowitz and the Neocons and their philosophies... but I'm not about to paint Wolfowitz as a "Zionist" conspirator.

He's more of a hawk than anything... he's really a pure neocon. He just believes in preemptive military action rather than containment.

I know its popular to call the Bush crew "Fascists" and such, but still, it's important to keep all of this in perspective. And quite frankly, calling the Bush crew "nazis" and "fascists" diminishes the truly evil nature of Hitler and the Nazis. The Nazis are a level of evil almost unequaled. I have my disagreements with Bush and his policies (quite frankly, he's an asshole); but I'm not about to make such a silly comparison by saying Bush (or Wolfowitz) is a Nazi. :eyes:

19. Thanks for clearing that up e_o_c....
I might have thought he was an evil vampire-looking guy with direct ties to Israel and had dual citizenship or some shit like that. If Israel wants our assistance, they could start by getting rid of Sharon. Or is it automatic? No matter what they do, America will stand by them? Not this American. I don't trust Wolfowitz and I don't trust his "agenda"...
