if grey davis resigned......
would that halt the recall election? after all the election is primarily to remove him from office and select his successor.
can he preempt that, even now, by resigning and letting the next in line to become govenor in his place?

anyone have any answers?

peace

3. It's not like the presidency
The Lt. Governor doesn't become Governor.

5. I think he should measure mivement
by people considering this Eastern Blackout in context- FULL context. If he gets no traction from that he should consider, because he is not likely to get a greater gift than that dropping in his lap.

I wouldn't encourage him. He has a right to remain governor. If he gives that up it is still a GOP victory. Simply blowing money on the recall is so far a GOP victory. A smashing triumph for the Dems can reverse that.

6. just wondering....
cause if his resigning did stop the recall, it might be a way to go, if it seemed sure that he was going to lose and a repuke win.

i know here in NY there is no recall provision, but i believe that if something happened to the govenor, the Lt. gov. (who runs in a VP type slot) would become gov.

the reason i started this thread was because i thought that the recall was on davis exclusively, but if it doesnt matter if he is still in office or not, and the election goes on, then i say fight it!
