What would these weapons dealers want with a theater chain? Would they have allowed Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" to be shown in Loews theater's if already owned, or pressure studio's and keep films like it, not even to be made? These same people already have firm control over the corporate media... Television news, most of the radio & print media, as well as the largest Internet provider (AOL). "Loews is the third largest movie theater chain in the global motion picture exhibition industry, with over 200 theaters and 2,200 screens worldwide. The assets being acquired include Loews' operations in the U.S., Grupo Cinemex, and its 50% interests in Megabox Cineplex of Korea and Yelmo Cineplex of Spain. Onex' share of the cash proceeds is expected to be approximately C$775 million. In addition, Onex will continue to own units of Cineplex Galaxy, which have a current market value of approximately C$105 million."

it to the release of Michael Moore's movie! Wow! They also mentioned that Carlyle is going around buying up a lot of other media.

Since Carlyle = Bush family and Saudis, this is not good news for any of us.

I hope Kerry is committed to breaking up these huge corporations, making maximum use of antitrust laws. He's got a lot of work to do.
