Under what circumstances would Bush drop Cheney from the ticket ?
Yes, he would drop him. If he becomes deadweight on the ticket and Rove et al, believe that Bush's polls are sinking and that he needs a lift, Cheney would be dropped, in my opinion. But it is still too early to say that Bush's polls will not go back up. However, by the time of Repub Convention, if Bush is down in the polls, Cheney is standing on thin ice...

4. A drop in the polls to something like 57-39-4 (we are there).
It's just a matter of who : McCain, Guliani, Powell, Frist.

5. only if Cheney tells him to...
Dick's the man who wears the pants in that White House...

Bush has seen success in politics because of the people around him... without people like Cheney, Rove, and his daddy's friends, Bush would be just another silverspooned drunken frat boy, playing golf and involving himself in corporate crime (as he did before he got into politics).

6. I think that's backwards.
To me it's under what circumstances will Cheney jump from the ticket, leaving Bush to take the heat?

7. If Cheney died, he MIGHT be dropped from the ticket.
Maybe.

Two reasons:

1) The Bush administration does not admit to mistakes. Removing Cheney or any other top administration official would be read as an admission of failure.

2) Cheney is the senior partner in this co-presidency.

10. They were talking about this on cbs last night
questioning whether or not Mccain would be a better choice. Mccain gave a canary eating frin and said no, but, I think he likes the attention.
Like most people here, I believe snarlin dick runs this show, only if they found someone else who would heel on command would it change.

12. If Cheney finally . . . .
let George's pet bunnies go free. You know he's been holding them hostage for over 3 years now. That's the reason Bush picked him to begin with was so the bunnies would stay safe :) :) :)

13. Bush Has NO SAY WHATSOEVER
I completely disagree with you. The only one who can get Cheney off the ticket is Cheney. He's the boss and I'd be willing to bet that the douchebag is too ego driven and too deluded and too stubborn to ever drop off the ticket.

Nothing less than a felony prosecution or death will prevent his bid for reelection.
