Well, just bought my F911 tickets for opening day!
First show of opening day here (South Texas). I asked if they had been selling a lot of tickets and the guy said that they were selling very fast and he expected a sell out. I then asked if they were going to have security on hand and he said he didnt know, but hoped they did because they said that protestors were going to be there as well as the media.

Sounds like its going to be a lot of fun. Im taking a camera for the festivities. :-))

1. when we bought our tickets today the attendant asked...
"did you know that by seeing this movie you are encouraging terrorism?"
it took my husband a minute to realize the kid was joking. They both laughed, and the box office attendant says "well, that's what a lady actually called and told me today...."

jeez there are some morons out there.

When we called yesterday to verify that they were still going to be showing it, the man who answered the phone said people were calling from Joplin to buy tickets because it wasn't playing there.

2. As did I, on my lunch break...
I asked the girl if they sell advance tickets, and she asked, "Oh, for Spiderman II?". And I said, no no, for Fahrenheit 911. And she responded with an enthusiastic, "OH! Hell yes." :)

3. Picked up by tix in southeast Florida
Will be attending the first (1 PM) showing tomorrow with my brother and nephew. I don't expect much of a protest here in Boca Raton, but one never knows. Should be fun, especially the viewing.

4. I just ordered mine for Sunday afternoon
at the Loews CityView in Fort Worth.

Woo Hoo, I can't wait!
Guess I will take my digital camera, just in case I can get a shot of some protestors.

6. I'm going to the first showing
at the Brenden theater in Modesto (11:00 on Friday). I had been calling them all week to see if it was playing and they said they "didn't know yet." They finally said "yes" today. My guess is that they were hoping to avoid protesters. I can't wait! I have NEVER gone to the first showing of any film, but I'm actually ditching work to go see this one.

7. Tomorrow night 8:30
The woman who took my order said to come at least
30-40 minutes early because it's showing on the two
largest screens in the cineplex and they're already
thinking of showing it on more based on demand. And
it hasn't even started showing yet.

I'm psyched.

Oh, and then today I bought an anti-Bush tee shirt from
a coworker and when we met in front on my building she
held it up for me to see, (it's the one with a big W
with the red circle and a slash going through it) and several
cars started honking and waving and giving a big

8. I'm going Saturday morning. Yay!!! (in TEXAS, no less)
It's being shown in 3 theatres here, which is surprising, since I live in Republican territory.

9. Fahrenheit 9/11
Saw it this morning.(NYC) Infuriating. That this man or anyone supporting him should should show up and prance around this town in August is disgusting.

15. F 9/11
Thanks.
There is an unflattering cameo of Porter Goss in the movie. Bush today mentioned him to head the CIA. Rumsfeld comes across as despicable.
Brothers and sisters are finely represented. (Black Caucus)
There are moments of humor and agony and a lot of information-almost overwhelming. Focuses on the man James Bath and the Saudi connection.
Don't miss it.

11. Cathedral City CA (Palm Springs area)
My two grandchildren (19 and 15) are going with me to the 2nd showing at 1:50pm tomorrow, opening day.

When my son purchased the tickets, they told him the 4:45 showing was sold out, as well as the later showings.. As many of you may know, this area is considered to be conservative, but strangely enough it will be showing in 4 theaters.

I have been waiting and waiting, and am very excited.

14. First showing tomorrow
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 06:48 PM by notsodumbhillbilly
at Real to Reel Theater in Johnson City, TN. I live in a nearby town, and northeast TN is so ultraconservative that I thought I'd have to wait until the DVD came out to see Fahrenheit 9/11. There was an article about the movie in today's Johnson City Press. Interestingly enough, the manager says he's a republican who supports Bush and was in favor of invading Iraq. However, he said "That doesn't mean I'm not supposed to play the movie, because other people are entitled to other viewpoints. They have a right to express them". Some callers have said they intend to organize protests outside the theater. The manager said he has no objection as long as the protests are done in a peaceful manner, and that disruptions during the movie will not be tolerated. He also said they're selling lots of advance tickets to the movie.

I told a friend who is going with me tomorrow about the article. Neither of us is the type of person who tolerates BS, so if any of the repug protestors thinks they can intimidate two old ladies (I'm 61 and she's 62), they're in for a helluva surprise!

17. I can't wait to see it!
The TV promos are incredible. The whole "Watch this putt" thing. This documentary will probably be a major force in shaping political attitudes. It will go down in history for that, I bet. I can't wait! B-)

Jacksonville (Florida) area theaters. And NE Florida is wingnut territory.
