GDP growth rate revised DOWN
Big surprise that YET ANOTHER positive report is being revised downward.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The nation's economic growth slowed to a 3.9 percent annual rate in the first quarter, a lower pace of growth than previously reported, the government said Friday.

1. They know the superficial jerks will only remember
the original report, and won't pay much attention to the revision. It's like having a retraction of some outrageous slander buried in little box next to the obits.

We all know unemployment is higher, growth is slower, wages are lower, foreclosures are higher, and inflation is skyrocketing.

They're just continuing to lie. Even the revisions are lies.

4. Absolutely. Look at the number of homeless...
I don't know about the situation near you, but I keep seeing more and more homeless people lining the streets. Compassionate conservativism at work.

2. Shouldn't someone do a documentary
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 11:52 AM by Frances
listing all of the times Bush reports have come out with fake facts and figures and then been revised?

And shouldn't we count the times that Bush shoved Colin Powell out there to take the heat for doing this?

On edit: Honest mistake was the excuse last time. Just how many honest mistakes (sarcasm) has this administration made?

3. All the same,
don't plan on the economy being down in November. It could happen, but -- inventory-sales ratios are 'way below their 12-year trend. When that happens, businessmen usually try to build up their inventories, and that leads to a speedup in production. The difference (trend minus actual value) is bigger than it was, for example, in 1997, at the beginning of the big boom of the late 1990's.

This is, of course, only one factor -- well, "the race is not to the swift, but that's the way the smart money bets."
