in Gaithersburg, MD RIO-18 this a.m. 11:35 showing. There were only a handful of people at the box office when I arrived. I walked right up to the as-yet-not-open window and just stood there. About 11:00 they opened the box office and I and purchased tickets for myself and spouse. I was really on edge because it appeared as though there was not going to many people out to see the movie and i began wondering if the RW nuts had been successful in scaring people away. That worry didn't last long, by 11:30 the movie was full. The film was GREAT!!!!! (I was able to turn at least three people sitting aroung me on to DU as we waited for the movie to start.) Michael has truly outdone himself with this flick. How anyone can watch this movie and not be changed by it is amazing to me. You could spot the Bushistas in the audience...sitting with their arms folded like they had been oredered to do by Rush. But at least, they paid to be there and I am sure they learned something.

Only one thing puzzeled me after the movie. I went to use the men's room and was stunned to see 6 urinals and at least as many stalls with lines about 4-6 deep. I had never seen anything like this in all my years of attending movies and using the bathrooms. What's up with that?

Anyway, please go see this movie. The 7:35 p.m. show was already sold out at the end of the 11:35 a.m. show. I think it is going to be a great wake-up call for America.

Thanks Micahel. Thanks a million!!!

9. Not even close
You get banned within seconds for posting a liberal opinion over there. However, here some people have some conservative ideals, and they're welcome members of DU. I don't mean fake conservatism or neo-conservativism, but old school conservative ideals. I can't say I'm one of them, but I have NO PROBLEMS with these individuals.

2. People unwilling/unable to leave the show while it was running
they were so entranced they just plain forgot.

I'll bet popcorn re-sales were 'way down too.

4. Concerning the bathrooms.....
We were talking about the same thing after the movie! I don't think anyone is getting up to use the bathroom; everyone is staying put so that they don't miss anything!

10. Thanks for the post.
When I lived in Rockville, I passed out fliers, etc. for Dem. Chris Van Hollen in his 2002 run for Congress. He won! The people in Wheaton and Bethesda were much friendlier to Dems than the people in G'burg. It seemed to me that the further you got from DC, the more conservative people were.

So, I'm really glad that F9/11 is being shown in G'burg.

11. It's pretty much the same now. We don't live in Gaithersburg but we
traveled there to attend the movie because it isn't showing in many places in Bethesda or Silver Spring so we thought we stood a better chance of getting in in Gaithersburg for the very reasons that you mentioned.
