Yuma Theater Puts ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ To An Online Vote - Let's Help Out !!!
<snip>

Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" could be in a theater near you — if you vote for it.

Once again, Main St. Cinemas is letting moviegoers decide whether they want a controversial film to come to Yuma.

The theater has a poll on its Web site asking, "Do you want to see Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11'?" Residents have the option of voting “Yes” or “No."

As of Thursday morning, the overwhelming response was in favor of the movie, with 80 percent voting yes.

3. What a bizarre state Arizona must be ...
I've been through it, and I've always known about its conservative reputation, but this poll is truly a weird thing to have out there.

25. When a "local" poll is 80% (our side), it might be best to NOT post
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 12:52 AM by SoCalDem
it..If we can go and vote, so can "others"... When that poll was local it was 80% and now it's "close".. The 80% would have been more impressive to the theatre people, even with a lower numerical count..

"DU this poll and that" is just like the clairon call to "Freep this poll".. We vote once, but they do NOT..

26. I would think only the actual number of yes votes would count....
Unless the theater knows they're drawing responses from outside the area (in which case why bother polling?), it's a simple enought matter to multiply the number of "yes" votes by the cost of a ticket to determine whether or not they should show the movie. There is absolutely no incentive for doing a damned thing for the "no" votes! Not showing the movie would not cause all those "no" voters to buy a ticket to not see F-9/11....
