RWers and their Moore-is-a-Narcissist nag...
I've heard it all in the past few weeks when it comes to Freeper-style Moore-bashing. Most of the ridicule have been vain attempts to humiliate the man in the face of any lack of real constructive criticism, however...

the most disgusting, vile and hypocritical assertion from the Creatures of the Right has been their insistence that MM suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Now, if you were to be so bold (or curious) to pursue the true meaning of this prognosis, you might find the following:

http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis1/p21-pe07.html

Diagnostic Criteria
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Now, I must ask, doesn't this describe essentially, about 97% of Hollywood's elite, and about 96% of those who make Washington D.C. their 2nd homes...?

The desperation of the right over this documentary is so palpable that I think I could play Dodgeball with it.

1. Moore's personality and motivation are unimportant
Do you believe him or not? His own opinions don't figure conspicuously in the film.

2. How many of these pundits have won an Oscar
and a Golden Palm? Needless to say, Moore's work has met and exceeded all the criteria in that definition. Moore is also probably the most humble famous person I've ever seen.

3. It's also pretty mutually exclusive to be a fat slob and a narcisist
And of course calling him a fat slob is the other rallying cry of the anti-Moore republicans. He is very overweight and doesn't really care about looking too presentable, and "fat slob" is a very derrogattory way of saying that, but that is antithetical to being a narcisist.

5. It sounds like the chimp and his flying freeper monkeys.
I guess it takes one to know one or it's the pot calling the kettle black or they doth protest too much.
