Letter to Cheney

This is in the mail to Cheney today:

Mr. Cheney:

Until yesterday I wasn’t sure if my impression of you was correct. But when I learned what you said to the honorable Senator Patrick Leahy, my suspicions were confirmed.

I believe you are the most arrogant human being in this country. And to defend your brutishness and vulgarity by saying Senator Leahy impugned your “integrity” is laughable. You wouldn’t know integrity if the Dalai Lama explained it to you. I work with inmates in a California prison. These men are murderers, rapists, drug dealers and worse, and yet I have infinitely more respect for them than I do for you. At least they admit their wrongdoings and try to improve on their baseness. You, on the other hand, are simply a thug and a punk.

I’m guessing you know you’re coming to the end of the line, and this makes you more unpleasantly peevish than ever. The people who manage George W. Bush know he’s probably headed toward another losing election, and they’ll dump you to improve his electability. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving cretin. I know how difficult it is for you, but please try to be civil in your waning days, especially to honorable people who are legitimately doing their jobs.
