Did Hezbollah really endorse F-911?
caught the tail end of a radio conversation just now...They were saying that Hezbollah is recommending their followers see the movie. Apparently, the man in charge of distribution for F911 was reached and said he doesn't want to condemn the endorsement because it could dramatically hurt sales when the film makes it to Syria and Lebanon later this year. They are fearing a boycott so they are taking a "no comment" position. I think this could really come back to bite Moore (and us) in the ass. This is the sort of things the pukes will take a run with..milking it dry until every American thinks that "terrorists" are supporting the democrats. I think Moore should end it now...stand up and let them know that we don't want Hezbollah's endorsement and don't support their actions. It may cost some him money when F911 hits the overseas markets, but it is a price well worth paying in my view. We can't let the incredible job Moore has done and all of the facts in the movie be dragged through the mud over this one issue...It will make it much easier for the pubs to paint it as a propaganda piece...and to make Moore out to be a "America-hating librul".

You are Sooo Right
I wish he had never made the damn movie.

If he had to make this movie for whatever selfish reason he should have thought about the consequences first.

Did he not expect evil doers would endorse this film.

God, when will liberals realize repubs will attack anything we do and stop doing anything.

I mean its obvious .. so please please please just stop causing trouble, I'm tired of being called a terrorist sympathizer.

Thank you for your thoughtful post.

8. you make my point!
Shit like this makes it easy for them to label us "terror sympathizers". It is NOT that Hezbollah endorsed the movie...It is the SILENCE from Moore on the issue. Simply issuing a statement against Hezbollah is all it would take to pull the fuse out of the dynamite...It don't know why they aren't willing to do it.

10. moore hasn't been silent on this issue -- radio link
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 07:13 PM by amazona
I just listened to a radio program with Al Franken and Michael Moore dated yesterday (the 25th) where Moore states this is one of the right wing lies being spread to keep people from seeing the film.

On Edit -- I will try to leave a link. Go to this page:

http://www.airamericaplace.com/archive.php

Click on the June 25 O'Franken Factor and go about 60 minutes in, you should get to the Moore interview. He has quite a bit to say about the Hezbollah lies and other lies being spread by the vast RW conspiracy. The whole show is worth a listen if you have time, actually.

11. Maybe
Moore like the rest of the thinking world has decided that what Hezbollah supports is Hezbollah's choice and god forbid Right!
How about we worry about less obtuse arguments.

18. Honey, here's a clue for you
The right is going to say WHATEVER they can get away with (which is a lot), a great deal of it totally untrue -- truth and honesty never being much of a concern to them anyway -- and the entire purpose of their lies, slams, denigrations, libels and slanders, intimidations, etc., etc., etc., is to try to create an environment in which we don't do or say ANYTHING for fear of what "they" will say about us.

Only if we ceased to exist completely would they be silent about us and probably not even then. They are out to SILENCE us. Are we going to let them? Or are we going to wise up and STAND UP TO THEM and refuse to be intimidated into capitulation and silence?

For the first time in what feels like eons, we have a voice. For one brief, shining moment, the whole country is lit up with the Truth, coming soon to a theater near you. They can't fight the Truth, so they create whatever diversions they possibly can. Don't fall into their well-laid trap.

4. Here's the capital irony...
The US Government was never endorsed by the Taliban or Al Queda.

We supported, trained, financed and had ranking members of the Taliban to visit our capital.

We introduced Al Queda to the wonderful stinger missile.

We gave Saddam the recipe for Mustard Gas.

But they never endorsed us.

It's not like George Bush is a Film-Maker or anything...

He's just the President.

9. What radio program?
I mean, surely, NO radio program would broadcast disinformation, would they?

Ya know, the right wing can (as Cheney says) GO FUCK THEMSELVES. If it isn't going to be one damn thing, it's going to be another. They will whine and foam at the mouth and jump up and down and lie and distort no matter WHAT our side does.

So FUCK 'EM. It's just stupid to waste energy on figuring out how best to placate them, because IT ISN'T GOING TO MAKE ANY DAMN DIFFERENCE.

They are bullies, they fight dirty, and they don't give a shit about truth. There will NEVER be any pleasing them, no matter WHAT we do.

I mean no offense to you personally, but wringing our hands about what THEY might think, or what THEY might do is ultimately self-defeating. They will do ANYTHING, use ANYTHING.

Our task is to gird our loins and keep fighting to get out the TRUTH and keep hammering it home without letting ourselves be distracted by all their pissing and moaning.

13. Moore wouldn't endorse Hezbollah.
And that's all that really matters.

I think Bush people would love for Hezbollah to endorse the movie; it's kind of like Don King endorsing Bush. But in the long run, it won't matter. The American People are perfectly capable of seeing through an obvious mistake. I've got that much faith. They ousted his Daddy; they'll do the same to him.

14. I'm surprised that people here
are accepting that Hezbollah endorsed the movie, going on a caller from a radio show. This is obviously a right wing lie, and it should be treated as such.

If Moore came out to refute it, it would just lend it credibility. It was just some guy on the radio, for crying out loud.
