4. So do you mean network news is less or more unbiased?
I watch only cable news, primarily, so I don't really have a comparison.

I watch CNN, MSNBC (not NBC), NWI mainly. Then I watch news programs, like Hardball, McLaughlin, O'Reilly (I try to keep up w/Faux), etc.

8. CBS, especially, has NOT been whoring for *
every night they hammer the bushies.

do NOT, i repeat DO NOT watch ANYTHING on cable and expect to get NEWS.

CBS news is a separate department from the entertainment division. this is NOT the case with ANY cable station.

all they do is KOBEMICHAELLACISHARKS crap 24/7 to distract.

they are NOT news!

CBS, in their small way, are still using journalists!

John Stewart on the Daily Show, of course.

:)

5. I liked the comment about Ireland's close ties to the US
and how it would take a lot to hurt that - "but George Bush has managed to do just that."

Maybe our media is finally waking up. :bounce:

14. I missed that
but it was whoever was doing the narration of the CBS piece showing the demonstrations in Ireland...It was a reporter, not one of the demonstrators.

15. Sheila McVicar? (sp)
I just caught the end of her piece on *'s visit to Ireland. I'm pretty sure she said "George W. Bush has done just that."

I was amazed!

6. I Hope CBS Gains In Ratings
they are always #3, but lately they are the only network not afraid to do some hard reporting - kudos to Nightline too

10. Actually, all 3 networks are
I believe it was ABC that ended a piece on *'s Ireland visit with (paraphrasing here) "It takes quite a lot to make the Irish people upset at America. Mr. Bush has managed to do just that."

11. you're right but
CBS *has* been the strongest.

but true, ALL the non-cable evening newscasts are MUCH better than any 24 hours of cable whoredom

13. Without question, CBS has led the pack

I usually watch them in lieu of the other two, but tonight for some reason I looked at all three.

I was pleasantly surprised. :)

20. Dan Rather??
He's buds with Rummy. I actually find ABC more critical, when I can stomach watching network propaganda!

21. i often surf through all three
and, overall, I have found CBS to be the most critical lately. CBS News is independant from the entertainment division and it shows.

which is NOT to say that ABC doesn't do critical coverage too.

25. With Rather I think it is personal about Bush.
He hasn't forgotten how bad Bush Sr. made him look during an "out of the loop" interview some years ago.

23. Oh, is ABC back to normal now?
I noticed some whore-like behavior in the days leading up to Peter Jennings' visit to Gitmo.

16. It was indeed beautiful viewing...
and down right jaw dropping. I loved the video montage of the Kennedy, Reagan and Clinton visits and how they were welcomed and liked by the Irish. Then came dumbya* with all of those glorious thousands of protesters!... without them saying it you could tell, he is indeed "The Worlds MOST Hated Man!".

18. regarding network v cable news
and the F-9/11 movie

we went to see F-9/11 last evening ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x1869149#1869981 )

our neighbor was in her yard as we were leaving, we chit-chatted a couple of minutes, mentioned we were going to see F-9/11

she said she heard that it's biased and had no interest in seeing it

I "smirked" and said "could be, but I expect that it's about as fair and balanced as Faux news..."

22. Go Dan Rather
I always watch CBS. I do think they may swing to the Left a little but I think they try to be fair about things. And they try to get the stories straight.

I think 60 Minutes definitely swings Left - not always - but most of the time.
