How do they get away with this?
For months now, as more and more damning information has come out
about the Bush Administration, the response of Bush defenders is to
attach the credibility of the messenger, of course, but increasingly they
dismiss the info as simply being lies.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you cannot make up some hugely damning
information about the President whole cloth and have it printed in the
New York Freaking Times! Surely you would be threatened quite
menacingly with legal action. Even if you believe the media has some
"liberal" bias, that's a whole different thing than simply making stuff up.

Nor can you make a movie, distribute it world-wide for everyone to see,
that is filled with untruths. Time and again I'm hearing this complaint from
those who don't want to know what Farenheit 911 has to say.

We must counter this argument whenever we hear it. It is bullshit.
Don't let them get away with it.

1. The technique has been hugely successful in the past and....
probably will be in the future. It is the reverese of the Big Lie technique they used against Clinton and Gore. The truth rate for the right wing in that attack was one-tenth of one percent. But, when it came down to it, the one lie they managed to trap Clinton was of no substance in relation to their claims of widespread criminality on the part of that administration.

Now, with a proven crime-ridden administration, they turn it around and say all the facts are lies. And with that right wing megaphone comprised of AM radio, cable news, Moonie newspapers and a unfactual fax-driven echo chamber, a good proportion of gullible Americans are convinced by the volume and reptition that Bush is an honorable man beseiged by leftwing hatred.

But, it works and it's all they got, so they have to keep working it. Until there is a substantial penalty for their malfeasance, they will be unrepentant recidivists because, as they love to tell us, they have no sense of guilt.

2. "they turn it around and say all the facts are lies"
Yikes.

That's a really amazing analysis. It is working, but aren't we supposed to
have in this country at least some penalty for malfeasance in the legal
system?

So what we need to do is counter the reverse big lie, and repeat to them
that, no, all facts are not lies. Facts can be proven or disproven, so prove
us wrong if you don't like what we say.

3. And the amount of people who believe the lies speaks volumes too.
It's sad. Totally sad.

4. It's amazing what the media can do
They can easily manipulate many Americas, especially those that want someone to think for them. But they are starting to lose the game, even if they don't admit it. I'm overwhelmed with all the interest in F 911. Our years of panic that the American people need to be exposed to the truth and wake up is actually happening now thanks to Michael Moore. I turned on Faux to see what they have to say, and they still project our strong leadership - untouched.
BULLSHIT!

They are losing the game,
They lost the gay community.
They lost the people needing cell stem research for their loved ones.
They lost many fo the veterans.
They lost many of the unemployed.
They have put our troops in a war zone with absolutely no war plan, except to make corporate dollars.

The press won't report how much support Bush has actually lost, but he'll be losing more. With the exposure of F 911, his continued lies will be fatal to his campaign. People are starting to ask questions. Life is good. The truth is surfacing.

5. Why Blame Michael Moore....
Hi,

I posted this a few min back and I'm going to repost once, won't do it again, just want to get my point across though...

It's all a temper tantrum... Here's what I wrote, it's riddled with sarcasm:

Hi,

I'm new to the board, and kind of new to the whole issue. My hubby is the one who opened up my eyes, and this movie are going to keep them open. I have one point to bring up about this whole movie. It was like more of an Epiphany. Republicans are shouting to the high heavens, that this movie is "a pack of lies" and this movie "is not fair." If you really think about what they're saying, cause one thing usually means another in their world, they're absolutely right. (Hear me out! LOL)

It is a pack of THEIR lies put together in a nice, neat little package for everyone to see and they're absolutely embarrassed, and it's not fair to them that WE CAUGHT EM! I guess if I lied like that and people called me on it I'd lash out like a scared little animal in the beginning too crying about how unfair it was -- but of course I am not responsible for the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people! Of course, everyone here knows this. I think it's funny that they're saying this. They're right. They lied, and someone put all the PRE-RECORDED clips of them saying one thing, followed by another PRE-RECORDED clip of them saying the opposite. Why are they blaming Michael Moore?

In the WONDERFULLY CHILDISH words of the lady at the White House that said "Blame Al-Quida" to the woman who was weeping in the court yard about her son's death (how EVIL btw) -- note ONLY after she was torn down by that mother's remarks of the day and place where her child died, because she was on some type of "scam police mission;" I say blame CNN, Fox (or Faux) News and all the other news stations that aired you saying your lies for Mr.Moore to put together in the first place! Blame the secretaries that typed up the documents and used the marker to suspiciously black out certain sections of the text. Blame the post office that sent Michael Moore the previous copy, and Oh, don't forget to Blame the mail clerk that put it in the envelope and addressed it to him!

Hrmmm...who else can you blame... God for free will and putting eyes and brains in certain people that can't be brainwashed? Cause it CERTAINLY cannot be yourselves, I mean, oh wait... blame the speech writers for writing those lies for you to speak about... Now after all that (unless I forgot some people) then MAYBE you can blame yourselves... RIGHT?

Now that we got most of the finger pointing out of the way, it's time for a spanking. Let's not let G.W. get his pudding next year? He won't know how to eat it, since "most of our imports come from other countries."

Take Care, :)

Pooh

6. Not Blaming Michael Moore
He did his homework and he cares about fairness and truth. The media is hitting him hard and nobody's listening. Moore represents courage and truth. Bush and the mediawhores are the liars, and thanks to Moore, people are seeing it.

7. Good post too
It's amazing when you first realize how corrupt it is and how deep it goes.

You are very articulate and correct in your views.

8. Thank You very much.
It takes someone awhile but I am proof that people know what the truth is when they see it. I was never a republican, cause if I was I'd be still scrubbing it off in the shower. Nevertheless, I was someone who "didn't want any more problems or "stress." and I always equated just talking about these issues with stress. Not realizing that the reason why I'm underemployed, and can't get good health care may be directly because of politics. Now I will never forget and encourage all to speak up. I've never heard such an ignoramus in my life, and I'm only 25. This movie made me cringe every time I heard words coming out of G.W and his administrations' mouth. If blaming everyone else for your misconduct was OK, then no one would ever do anything wrong ever in life. I guess they missed that in Kindergarten.

10. Did he show up for Kindergarten?
Damn. No wonder it took him so long to read My Pet Goat.

Welcome!

12. LOL!
You're so right! I didn't realize how long it took him to read that book, maybe the pictures were "really cool!" and that's why he was stammering. Now I want to see all of his report cards.... Thank You all for the hearty welcomes, it really means a lot to me. And getting back to effecting people's lives, my friends and I are taking someone from work who was overheard saying "oh I'm not really concerned about anything that happens in the government, it doesn't really affect me" to the movie. Unfortunately, that type of behavior is running rampant -- my case in point... but that shouldn't be the case, just because it doesn't affect you, how about your fellow neighbor?

11. Hi PoohStuff - enjoyed these posts
I think that it's very true that people don't see the connections between politics and how their lives are affected. :hi:
